  1. The 1946 Dodge trucks came with a two wire sender . The dash gauge would have three terminals . You need to stick with using all of the terminals . I once came across a three terminal dash gauge that worked with the stock sender , it would have moved the needle up from the bottom instead of down from the top and the mounting holes would have been different . The dash gauge was from a Plymouth car , station wagon only has the three terminals . Do you have a shop manual ? The dash gauges are adjustable . Also the dash gauges have points the can need cleaning , they are very fragile .
  2. I also didn't like seeing the ends of the frame rails on the 1939 - 1947 trucks . I made a cover from a sheet of scrap steel .
  3. Some of the old starters had an adjustable switch on top . Can you lever the starter switch with something so that it works ? Just guessing here . Also the switches that I have seen were easily removed from the starter for inspection and cleaning .
  4. Mark , Is this for your 1946 WC ? It would be very different than the pilot House trucks .
  5. Can you push the clutch in farther ?
  6. There is a hollow nut on the steering box and under the nut is an adjustment screw . There is a star shaped washer around the adjustment screw that you lift up , do your adjustment , and then replace the star washer in the new position . Do your adjustment with your wheels pointed straight ahead . Not too tight . See numbers 26 , 27 , 28 in photo

  8. That valve seat might be there , just too hard to see . Try cleaning and polishing the area for a better look . And are you sure that is an exhaust valve , I understand that the intake valves didn't have hardened seats .
  9. I don't have a video , only more words . The bottom has to come out first . You say that can pull up on one corner of the bottom , but both corners of the bottom must come up . If it is stuck down . try prying the stubborn front corner up with a screwdriver , that is the only way . After that it is simple , move the seat bottom forward a little and you will see the two ' hooks ' that fasten to the back , so you just unhook it . After that , the seat back has two pins to slide out .
  10. Better than gravity feed , hook up a garden sprayer and use pressure .
  11. If the gas is still good , you could put it in another vehicle .
  12. The steel portion of his floor is in his photo , in the upper right , that is the portion that the pedal arms must hit . There is another steel floor portion of the floor that goes between the wood and the one shown .
  13. On your brake pushrod you will need just a slight amount of free play before it contacts the master cylinder part .
  14. The backward movement of the pedals is stopped by the floorboards , the metal panel . That is how it was designed at the factory . There are draft seals that cushion the movement slightly .
  15. I have a battery load tester that will test either 6 or 12 volt batteries . It is Harbor Freight cheapie . You just read a different part of the scale .
  16. Re torque the head bolts now that things have warmed up .
  17. Looking in my 2017 Vintage Power Wagons catalog . They sell a Cowl Light Inner Assembly ( 3 wire for turn signal use ) .
  18. Those carb screws are 12-24 size . Not real common but not scarce either . I found some at a large hardware store . Someone might have had a handle mounted where those chrome/rust plugs are .
  19. " ?Are you supposed to remove the back plate of the water pump? " Yes . Do as Dodgeb4ya said . I have always done this on my water pumps .
  20. For generator GGW-6001J , The brush set is GGW2006F . AutoLite numbers . I also have autoLite numbers for the other parts . P.S. My book shows this generator fits a 1951 Chrysler , but it could have been used on other vehicles as well . I didn't look further .
  21. Summit Racing shows a big selection of heater cores , with dimensions .
  22. I have installed a bunch of them and each time I wonder how they can possibly fit . Turn the bezel upside down with the lens in place .That small loop in the centre of the spring clip goes under the lip in the bezel ( the side that is now facing you ) . The two long ends of the spring clip rest against the lens .
  23. It hasn't been directly asked , but , are you a smoker ? Once when driving to work in the still dark early morning hours , I was traveling at freeway speed and suddenly my windshield was covered with sparks . Quite shocking . Someone must have flicked a cigarette out of a passing car window .
  24. Years ago there was a site posted here that had a big selection of heater cores for sale with photos and dimensions .
  25. Yes , those are the right clips to hold the lens in place . I don't have a picture but they do work fine . They only hold the lens in the bezel and the bracket that Ed mentioned holds the bezel assembly to the body of the light .
