  1. Some of the wiper blades can just be cut smaller with a tin snips . I don't know if yours is that type though .
  2. My distributor seemed to be seeping a little oil from that spot . I just cut a gasket from some gasket material and that fixed it . Some guys have mentioned putting an o ring there .
  3. It can be removed if the cam shaft is removed .
  4. Thanks for that . One vendor says that he has one and I have asked for pictures and dimensions . I have found that and earlier spring has a smaller I.D. so I could not modify it as the spring sets on round shoulders that are larger . For now I am driving the truck and have the stomp lever pulled back with a coil spring tied to the battery box . I am thinking about a hardware store spring if I can find one with an I.D. of 11/16 inch . Also I don't know if I can reshape the hardware store spring .
  5. Will do , i have inquired at a few places already .
  6. Wow , Thanks Rich . That will give me a lot to look for and compare .
  7. I am looking for the part number for this Auto Lite starter spring . It fits on starter MZ4148 . It draws the bendix back into the starter after the engine starts . One end of the spring in the photo fits into a hole and the other en slides into a groove . The spring in the photo is broken so it isn't in the groove . The starter fits Dodge trucks B1B (T142) and B1-C (T144) . The proper name for the spring would help too .
  8. What fingers ? It would be a big job to replace that tappet , I would try the easy way first with the thread locker .
  9. Yes I put these brackets on myself . As far as holding the nut on the inside of the stake pocket , The nut was already fastened inside of the pocket and I couldn't see how the nut was held . I could only see that the nut had been in there a very long time and I ran a tap through it to clean out any grime , paint , and rust . The nut didn't spin free . For your application I suggest just running two bolts through the stake pocket .
  10. For some reason I can't see your photo . My original bed pockets have one threaded hole from the factory . the other mounting hole is drilled straight through . Both bolts are 5/16 inch diameter . My photo is looking down from above on the passenger side . The black fasteners are for the tail light bracket .
  11. I called out one seller that told me the item was back ordered . I told the seller that he should not sell an item that he doesn't have .
  12. "... it looks like the 671950 I see on a couple of eBay listings, " Would it help if you could contact those ebay sellers and ask for dimensions ?
  13. " So I'll put a zerk fitting in and grease it with water pump grease, if they still sell such a thing. " Members have said that Walmart sells the water proof grease .
  14. Those nuts are size 11/32 and you need a deep socket . 1/4 inch drive as mentioned .
  15. Pull the sender out of the tank and hook it to the dash gauge . Move the float up and down while watching the gauge . Be sure to ground the sender . That might help to get an idea of what is happening . Look for any frayed wires .
  16. Tap the drum with a large hammer first to see if it frees up . Sometimes just rusted parts are stuck .
  17. Another possibility is , If the truck had the optional stainless grill bars , they could have been removed to be sold for big bucks .
  18. Yes it would be the same , 39 Plymouth truck and 39 Dodge truck 1/2 ton . I have a Dodge truck Shop Manual T series 1939 SUPPLEMENT . They didn't print a new shop manual for 1939 , just the supplement . Only 74 pages . I got this one from one of the sellers that specializes in manuals , several years ago .
  19. These might help , I am working with a new camera so it is a struggle . I tried to get a photo that shows more a complete picture but it isn't happening .
  20. These might help , I am working with a new camera so it is a struggle .
  21. Is your replacement coil getting hot too ? Is it an old coil that should have been thrown out ? Those symptoms are the same problems that I had when my coil went bad .
  22. How about buying a thread gauge ?
