    Problem is, I don't think the OP is planning on having the crank machined so it really doesn't matter. In which case two options apply. Don't worry about and leave the bearings alone or just put new ones in the same size as you have. Neither is optimal

    Hmm, looking at Andy's post I see something that might work Yeah, it's listed as a fog light bracket, but it looks like it would clamp to those bumper brackets and a piece of angle iron bolted to the top would let you mount a plate? No, I wasn't looking for anything like this, I was looking for add on fog lights, lol.

    Well, maybe if he bought a set of real good standards to verify his readings then it might be ok. But when your measuring things whit thousandths or ten thousandths of an inch tolerances, cheap stuff probably isn't up to it?

    I dunno, call me a snob but I's rather spend my tool money on real quality tools. Like Starret or Mitutoyo. Yeah, they cost a bit more but are definitely quality tools.

    In the downloads section there is an article about swapping a 318 into a 51 Plymouth. Might give you an idea though most, if not all, of the suppliers mentioned are out of business.

They do not, but by god they et you know it's 139mm long. Who cares, not like most of us (any of us?) know how long that is without converting.     Y0u could do that, or just push the rod and piston assembly up some, it's not going to slide down on you in the time it takes to do the inspection.

    When you act like getting info out if you is akin to pulling teeth help will not be forthcoming. This is a modification that I do not think anyone here has done so you are pretty much on your own. If you wanted to return it to proper original working condition, help would be there.

    Well, I went out and looked at it. Not in the path of totality, only 97% here. It got a bit dark out, temp dropped a bit. Tried to take a pic, but no dice. That's two eclipses for me in the last 8 months or so. An annular and a total. Wee, lol.

    I am lucky, it is car driving season year round here. But I do drier her in the snow and rain too, so maybe it is just me, lol.
