I was out cruising this afternoon and stopped at an acreage that is a bit shaded. I went up to the road and took this picture. Once I got home and looked at the picture more closely, I was struck by the contrast of greens varying from the lighter green of the car to the darker mature summer green of the trees, with other shades in between. After blue, green is my next favourite colour.

Same car but different location. Dark green trees and the green crop is peas. Then there’s the grass the car is on.

I love summer!?

More green variation. This has been a pretty wet spring and early summer. Usually, things have started to dry up by now.

Great photo.

I like the idea of heading out for a drive and not needing to check the weather forecast. You can see the bad weather coming from 2-3 hours away. I don't have that luxury. I have about a 15 minute lead time that I can see. The mountains are all in the way. I love that Big Sky Country in the summer months!

That car...What a unique look. A small coupe cab yet a huge boot! From that angle it appears that the hood is actually stubby and shorter than the trunk. Is that correct?

I love the big skies. I like the mountains too but if I’ve travelled to the coast and back I am always glad to get back to the prairies.

The hood is similar in length to the trunk. It all depends on the angle. However, trunk is certainly bigger than sedans and no quarter windows behind the doors.

First picture was taken last year when things were a lot more dry.

I just like taking pictures of the car from the rear as the trunk is what the car’s about. They only made 345 of the 1951 Dodge D39 business coupe and dropped the body style in 1952. Couple more pictures.

So.......different green car. I have been having carburetor issues with my ‘53 Plymouth but after a full rebuild with a new carb kit, I finally got the old girl out for the first time this year. She’s purring like a kitten even with 102,000 miles on her. Green paints on the car are original as the car has never been repainted and never will be as long as I own it. Up close there is lots of gravel rash and a few scratches. I’ve owned the car since 1975, the same year I got married. I still have my wife as well. ?

Having a car for 45 years is pretty impressive.  Having a wife for that long is outstanding.  She must be a Saint! ?

She is but she enjoys my old cars as well and doesn’t mind the time I spend driving and working on them.  45 years sure seems to have gone by quickly. I was 26 when I got the Plymouth and my wife. ?

My first car was a 54 Plymouth so I have a natural affinity for them.  Yours looks great.

Thanks for the compliment. I like the 54’s as well. Basically a difference in trim.
