Had I come up behind a load like that in the picture, I would have called 911 and followed from a distance.

Sounds like someone is pushing their luck, but more importantly, endangering innocent motorists through their lack of consideration for others safety.

Geez Niel, you must also be a cry baby like me. When I see something like this I am proud to be a cry baby.

Word is, he is safe and sound. Here is the old chevy in its new environment. Any time you sell off your Grandpa's truck, you feel a little sentimental about it.

I said it before and say it again, Corey ever needs anything, I will do what I can for him. That truck was a adventure and I am assured it is in good hands.

Sorry about the link, never knew it was the way it is until Plymouthy told me. And been feeling so good after a surgery last Friday, been working my tail off

He simply said he got home with no problems. He made it to a truck stop at 8:00 pm, then he waited until 1:00 am and drove the rest of the way home.

He could not go over 45mph without it starting to fishtail.

So 1:00 am on a Sunday the road is pretty clear of other drivers.

Couple of pics he sent me.

I'm very happy to hear that Corey made it home without a problem other than the trip may have taken  longer than he had planned... When I was still working for a living and at the time didn't own my own car hauler, time was an important consideration for me as I still had "deadlines and commitments" to meet . On several occasions I arranged  to rent U Haul trailers expecting them to be fully serviceable upon my arrival  and to move without delay, after problems with the serviceability and safety of their trailers, I bought one myself and use it for transporting equipment, at least I know the history of it's use and maintenance. :)

Just took the time to look at this thread. OMG! There is absolutely nothing good or commendable about it. Hopefully no one that had to share the road with this mess got hurt or needed hospitalization. There is a line in the movie The Shipping News that comes to mind. Goes something like this: God didn't give you the sense he gave that box of Donuts. And I can't help thinking that it really applies here. When I see this sort of stuff all I can think is what if some completely innocent person had gotten injured or killed by this? Shows a complete lack of respect for anyone else and paints a truly horrible picture of an aspect of our hobby.

wife called from work, irritated eye so I took some eye drops to her.  I decided to take the 54 Savoy and while in town pop in a few gallons of fuel and do my first of the month banking.  When I arrived at her school two classrooms took a field trip out to look at the car..couple of the kids asked some very good questions.

A safer way to move a heavy load...This truck showed up at my property a couple of weeks ago and the two Lincolns were loaded within half an hour. The loading of the trailer was controlled by the driver using a wireless remote.

Ralph, I am assuming you had these Lincolns and have sold them on. I've got to get out to your place one of these days and have a look!

Yes, they did belong to me. I sold the pair plus accumulated parts ... they are now off to Poland I believe. The local hauler was taking them to Calgary and from there they were going to Vancouver, B.C. to be loaded in a container. A very expensive project to be sure. The bulk of the sand in my personal hour glass is no longer at the top either and I have lots to keep me occupied. :)

Wasn't  joking, bad keyboard so went looking and found this one, keys are a bit sticky but will loosen up.

Question; I'm cleaning up stuff like two old suburbans. One body is too rusted out to save, the other not so. What should I remove from those bodies before I send them to China and/or what should I do with the body that is solid? I tried CL but no takers.

Maybe offer it on CL for "Make offer".

you remove those items quickly transferred to the other body..chunks of metal most likely damaged in a parking lot meeting.  Too rusty to save is open to interpretation and usually based on each person's ability not overall condition of the car itself.

10-4. Will post the bodies on CL in some tempting fashion and try to let someone save them. They are scarce.

I have a 56 Ford C600 truck with a van bed which I will use for parts storage.  Got to clean up before mid January because I will be doing knee replacement on both knees and that will limit what I can do.

Too rusty to save in CA might be rust free to someone in MN!
