Here she is in all of her dirty glory! Stock/original engine in my '46 business coupe. She runs like a charm, and people at shows always seem to comment on how quietly she idles.

I bought this suburban in October. It has a '55 230 engine and an overdrive transmission. Now that the suburban is at the body shop I will pull them and find out what I have. My plans are to put them in the gray suburban. I didn't run it before I bought it!

Oh to have such beautiful cancer free dry iron laying around... rare site in the north east.

Same here. They crush better metal than we can usually find to start with.

I scanned this thread and did not find any entries of my projects.  If I missed that and they are duplicates, I apologize.

Flathead on the beach!

Spotted in Half Moon Bay, CA in January

I'm 99% sure this is a small block Mopar flattie....yeah? It even looks like a fluid drive.

Also down the beach a ways is another inline six of unknown make (with chain around it). Any ideas?

No idea how these ended up here. Maybe WWII-era remnants?

I've seen engine blocks used as mooring anchors.  Plant it, hook up a bouy to find it again and you have an instant mooring point.

This is mine, I know the gray isn't correct but, the silver just looks grungy to me. Some of the brackets should also be engine color but I painted things the way I thought the should have bee rather than what they where.

I think grey is an excellent color for these motors. This one looks sweet!

And another member with a 55 Chevy, yay!

Interesting pix. Some contributors over in the photo gallery include engine shots. Was just thinking of engine color yesterday. A quick search indicated that that 40's into early 50's were original Silver, the paint number being MOPAR P4529148. For whatever reason, I like it.

George Asche built this 265ci from the 251 in my 1952 Desoto.  Carbs and linkage are also from George. The dual intake is a swap meet part that I polished myself.  Anyone ever seen another Nicson intake?
