Eureka!! My new tachometer is mounted, wired, and notes rpms per a 6 cylinder engine. I have an extra speaker screen on the right tower, so I mounted it in that location. Looks like a mate to the speedometer. These extra items take up a LOT of time. Now two door windows and a new speedometer cable, but church first.

PP has been told numerous times the disease ridden vermin are not pets...I am sure he thinks he is funny but the dillo is not a friend of mine...even setting aside all step not to touch the beast...they will leave entrance hole to a burrow at the edge of shrubbery and next thing you know you get bones set...there is a slight outbreak of leprosy in Florida now (read three cases on the internet) from eating improper prepared armadillo...is it worth it...not a chance...wonder if those guys will share in his humor today...they if not making a burrow will dig holes that can also cause you to lose footing as they search for grubs in your yard..destructive is the best term to describe them...oh..and perfect target for a well placed .357 round.

for your reading pleasure..find out how they react to cars on the highway at night...amazing facts...that and the fact they have ONLY 4 kits at a time..all identical..

Dash board update: This is to date, cab needs housekeeping, but it will let you know a little more. I will do a fuller update shorly, just learning how to post on my new computer.

Installed tachnometer

I have looked at scores of pilot house dash paint ideas, yet have not seen a two tone in this horizontal motif. There may be more like this and I would like to see what they did. The design extends to the doors for a nice surround look. What I like about this is the look of the tower hoods and then the extension downward. I hope you enjoy the look as well. When the knobs are on and the steering wheel and all is polished it will show even better.

Glass company delayed my mountain trip, Now no more excuses. Got to go, maybe in the morning.

A couple dashboard pictures. I

notice...!        it's like a wart on the end of your nose PP...also why the dissimilar pedal heights clutch and brake and where along side the road did you get the gas pedal...look like the only thing scared is the patina..

Last evening I took a nice 10 mile drive, all went well. But I discovered that with my hearing aid removed, when I could begin to hear the din of the engine, my mph was at 60 MPH. Had I known that, I would not have had to get a new speedo cable nor a tach. Well, "live and learn"!

[aside] Tim, yet even without the hearing aid, I can hear the music!

I had a late start, 3:00 and it was hot today, 90 degrees, so the pull was a good one but not to the top. With the hot outside temp, the gauge showed 200 when I took the turnoff back home. Total miles around 40.  I pulled the hill in high and the engine never lugged, stayed at 55 MPH so pleased with that.  Cab is noisy and I think the steering is a bit looser as well, so will check closely the tire rods, etc.

A couple of pics in Orange Cove

I reckon that the Phoenix looks like two different trucks Paul - when you compare the medium-rare side with the well-done side!

It sure is good to see you back up and running again. Safe journey to the BBQ and back my friend.

In the tradition of the good old serial westerns this thread should be re titled "El Scorcho rides again"  or  "Viva El Scorcho"

Especially when you consider the recent torch escapade.

Jeff, would you consider, " The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" as a second choice? I'm trying to figure out a personalized license plate name maybe be "FeeNix" or "Fired up" or "Toasted".

Any other suggestions will be considered

;) Sorry Paul but at this point I have this mental picture of you driving around with a big sombrero and a pair of bandaleros. You can call the truck whatever you want but you will always be "El Scorcho". .

Jeff..
