BobT-47P15 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 So, I tried to take the poll GTK has instituted to acquire some input from us. But, at the end I get this message: Oops! Something went wrong! [#10355]You must cast your vote in each question of the poll. Need Help? Our help documentation Contact the community administrator I did not cast a vote for the one question that said if you answered the prior one no, then don't need to answer this one. Quote
T120 Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 " I did not cast a vote for the one question that said if you answered the prior one no, then don't need to answer this one. "... - My experience as well ,Bob. Other than that my opinions pretty much reflected the majority so far Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Had the same experience too. Quote
ptwothree Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Me too...makes for a less accurate poll......... Quote
P15-D24 Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Think of it as if the forums were restructured as pre WWII, post WWII, Late 40's - early 50's, Mid to late 50's (I understand you don't want them that way) would you prefer car and trucks be combined? Quote
Young Ed Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 I like the cars and trucks seperate and the same year ranges don't apply between them. For instance my truck series was made from 39-47 with the war inbetwen. Quote
Desotodav Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 I'm with you Ed - cars and trucks separate is good, but separating by age range not so good. Desotodav Quote
martybose Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Don't forget that a lot of us have cars that are real mongrels; my 47 plymouth has a 1950 Dodge 230 engine and a 54 (I think!) Dodge 3 spd w/OD transmission. Not to mention a 1990's Chevy alternator and a 2010 AGM battery. Car separated from trucks, probably. But separated by years, NO. I'd miss all of the useful info for the various vintage stuff I'm running! Marty Quote
RobertKB Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) Yes to cars and trucks separate, but no to separate years category. Edited February 25, 2013 by RobertKB Quote
TodFitch Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Thinking about it, if the forum were to be splint into more sections, I think I'd do it by function rather than by era. Perhaps "drive train", "suspension", "body and paint", "interior and upholstery", "road trips", etc. Seems like lots of those apply across both car and truck and across a lot of years. But, on the whole, I'd just leave the categories as they are. I just use the "view new content" function with the option set to show me anything I haven't read. Usually I don't even notice if the thread is on the truck side or the car side. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 I agree with others.........car and truck separate, and leave things as they are now on all the rest. Works fine for me. Sometimes I learn stuff even if it's not directly related to a P15. And I enjoy most of the off topic posts about assorted things. Quote
