Don Coatney Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Successfully completed 25 years married to the same woman and graduated to Zen with this posting. This picture of Lisa and I was taken May 14, 1982 after we returned home from the elopement. We crossed the state line and got married in the court house in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Quote

Chester Brzostowski Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Congratulations Don, Melissa & I will hit 34 years this September. Boy O’ boy.., There is nothing like poverty to hold a marriage together. It worked for my Mom & Dad. They made 60+ years before the grim reaper struck. The many good things poverty brings to a marriage: - You are both vested in the same goal. Staying ahead of your creditors. - Arguing about money isn’t a problem…, don’t have any. - Don’t need a big house.., couldn’t furnish it anyway. - Who could afford a hotel for a one night stand.??? - If I moved out where in the world would I live and who’s going to find my car keys. Just kidding.., PS… Who is the young good looking guy in the picture with your wife.???? Chet… Quote
greg g Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Well I have been happily married for 35 years, and since the wife and I celebrated our 38th back in April, I think that is pretty good. No real bad times just a few minutes here and there over the years that were on the other side of happy. Oh Well, guess that's still pretty good..... Wife always gives me a dirty look about here. Congratulations. Lisa must be a very patient and forgiving lady, likely cut from the same cloth as my better half. Quote
blueskies Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 It appears that Lisa is a very brave woman! Congratulations on making the first 25, and may the next 25 be even better. Your ARCH RACE RIVAL, Pete Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Don, that is beautiful. you two look great together. The ladies in our lives makes for a great balance. It's like they give life a purpose. The years have been kind to you both. I have been with my wife since 11 grade that's 30 years we have been married for 24 it's funny I am not that old. If it wasen't for her I would have cars surrounding my house. That's what they bring sanity. good luck to you both, did you all take a ride in the Plymoth? Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Wow, what a start. Taking a young gal across the state line for the purpose of marriage. I'm sure that if it wasn't a federal crime at the time, it certainly would have been a crime in the state of Tennessee. Congrats! Let's hope you two have 25 more. Quote
Frank Blackstone Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 I always heard you either have a family or a hobby of cars. But not both. women how put up with our love for something for which they could justifiable be jealous are precious and need to be treated accordingly. Congrats for finding the balancing point and having the best of both worlds. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 And, what he's telling her in that first picture is: "Lisa, I had this dream last night...that 25 years from now we'll be riding around in an old blue Plymouth, giving a tour of the town to people from Milwaukee." Quote
