Rodney Bullock Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Had the Plymouth out today saw a stain in the headliner. Does anyone know how to remove blood stains. What is the best chemical for that? Quote
T120 Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Found this method in Reader's Digest.I tried it once - it worked for me... "The quicker you act, the better. Whether it’s on clothing or table linens, you can remove or reduce a bloodstain with this method. Make a paste of cornstarch mixed with cold water. Cover the spot with the cornstarch paste and rub it gently into the fabric. Now put the cloth in a sunny location to dry. Once dry, brush off the remaining residue. If the stain is not completely gone, repeat the process". Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I sure hope this is not going to be featured on the 11 o'clock news... do a test spot on the fabric regardless of the product you use to be sure it is going to perform as intended..maybe rear area covered by the seat back or something like that..will not oxy clean do this job? Adam H P15 D30 Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Did you bump your head? Now that's funny!!! Quote
spitfire Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 What material are these headliners even made of? Sorry I'm not of more help. I think blood is water-soluble, so something mild, unless you're trying to get rid of the evidence.... Quote
Oldguy48 Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Rodney, If you don't mind me asking....how did the blood stain appear on your headliner? I won't be offended if you tell me to MYOB. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 I can't believe anyone shorter than 8' tall could bump their head in an old Mopar. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted February 7, 2012 Author Report Posted February 7, 2012 You guy's are so wild. If you remember last year I had a field mice problem. I have been using some real good poisen. I think one of those mice got up in the headliner and died. It is right near the interior light. I see the blood. I used oxy wash in a bottle however after washing it the spot faded. I would like to remove it totally befor the riding season starts. This was my first attempt at cleaning it. The stain is on the other side of the material. I will soak it it again tomorrow and see if I can dilute it. Quote
spitfire Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Figured it might have involved a "rat". Quote
pflaming Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Leave the spot, it adds to the provinance of the car! Quote
Young Ed Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Rodney just tell people its icecream. When I was little my Aunt crashed our AMC matador. I don't believe anyone was seriously hurt but from then on there was an "icecream" stain on the headliner. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 ah Young ED, if it was that easy everybody would be doing it:) The inside of my plymouth is so nice that I just don't want anything there does not belong. I soaked it and I think the oxysolve is working. Quote

Dodgeb4ya Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 What if there is a dissolving dead and dried up bloody mouse carcass up there in the head liner ready to fall onto someones head? I'd send a snake up into the head liner to get that rascal.... Bob Quote

blucarsdn Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Had the Plymouth out today saw a stain in the headliner. Does anyone know how to remove blood stains. What is the best chemical for that? Hydrogen Peroxide, (3% U.S.P.) will take blood stains right out of cloth... Many years ago a medical tech was placing an iv into my arm, the needle slipped and the blood went everywhere. I was wearing a nearly new pair of white jeans.. The medical tech told me to remove my jeans, she pored Hyd.Perox. on my jeans, blood was gone. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted February 11, 2012 Author Report Posted February 11, 2012 That sounds good however will that stuff change the color of my fabric? I can't wait to see:) Thanks! Quote
