boxer_inv
Hi Both Daisy and Dorothy are Canadian built Mopar masterpieces and hence both have the 25" engines. I don't have a parts book and I'm looking to source a full gasket set (possibly 2) for my tear-down project. I see some on ebay listed, but presume these will be for the 'normal' 23" block engines. I did find this set though...on ebay...can anyone advise me whether this would suit? It seems a better option for the price against the $215.00 per set that has been given me by an Australian source. Big_John
Rock Auto has Fel Pro FS7688C2 complete gasket set for a Canadian Flathead. $86 and they're not some old gaskets that have been sitting around.
RobertKB
If you would like, I can check locally for you for gasket sets at NAPA and another local supplier that is very good about supplying parts for older cars. Just PM or email and let me know if you are interested.
PatS....
I used this one for my Canadian 251 with water pump bypass. Local warehouse stock for my parts store...I ordered it a 9am and picked it up at 2 pm. Around $80c Find a Felpro dealer locally and order from them, MUCH cheaper. The guys at my parts store would happily ship one to OZ for you as well. Edited July 10, 2011 by PatS....
rockerbillykat
Boxer inv, try Automotive Surplus, they are down here in Melbourne. I purchased a full kit less head gasket for under $100. Some of their stuff is pricey, but they should be able to help! Their Phone No :03 98733566 Fax: 0398741485 www.autosurplus.com.au

1950 Special Deluxe
Big_John Rock Auto has Fel Pro FS7688C2 complete gasket set for a Canadian Flathead. $86 and they're not some old gaskets that have been sitting around. But, will this fit a 25" Canadian 218? I have not found a "guy" at a parts store yet, I need to do all the legwork and give it to them. Then, I have a chance. Thanks Neil
Roger the Dodger
Rob, if you buy parts from the US of A don't mention Canadian. Just ask for parts for either a Chrysler or De Soto, they are both 25" blocks. Roger.
bamfordsgarage
I picked up two of these gasket sets today at NAPA. They were stocked elsewhere, one here in Edmonton and the other in Calgary. Sounds like the outfit in Calgary had more on hand. Not cheap at $130 each including tax and Auto Club discount. Computer listing of this Felpro FS7256C showed it suitable for my 1947 D25C Canadian Dodge 218 in3. The label listing on the other hand (photo below), has it fitting Chrysler 236 in3 and 251 in3 engines for 1947, and the 218 in3 engine for 1937. I'm guessing the same set would work for 218 and larger 25" blocks, unless the head gaskets are different re the larger bores. NAPA sez they will take these sets back if they do not fit (as long as the package is in really good shape, contents clean and unused etc.) but I would hate to wait until assembly time to learn they are incorrect. Can anyone here confirm if the gasket sets for the large-bore Canadian 25" blocks are the same as for my small-bore block?
55 Fargo
Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, valve chamber, fuel pump, oil pump, water pump,t/stat housing, head gasket, all the same, as long as it is all for a 25 inch block, good for 218 to 265, your engine has external bypass water pump, so the extra hole in the water pump, and head gasket won't be needed, nor should they cause any problems either.......Fred
bamfordsgarage
Thanks, Fred — I measured the head gasket at the store and it was just over 25" so it looks like I'm OK.
RobertKB
That shows it going to 1954 so likely for engines with internal bypass. That should be OK as you can use and internal bypass headgasket on an external bypass engine but not vise-versa. You will likely have a little curved bit showing behind the water pump once the head is on but you will have to really look to see it as often the vacuum line from the carb to the distributor goes over it. Let us know how things work out but my guess is you are good to go.
1947 D24 limo
I am just looking for the exhaust/intake gaskets for the exhaust manifold I am replacing, I have the Canadian engine and the fel pro ms8009b that I ordered does not fit. If anyone has any tips, or a parts manual or part number that would really help me out thanks
Sniper
You ordered a set for the 23" engines. All Chryslers, Desotos adn Canadian vehicles use the 25" setup, I nthe future look it up as a Chrysler not a Dodge engine or select the Canadian option.
