Young Ed Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 I'm looking for one cheaper then the $10 plus shipping ebay has one for. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 What are you looking for Ed? The bride? The church? The wedding? All that stuff is going to cost you a lot more than ten bucks. Quote
RobertKB Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 If you want it, Ed, go for it. What is $10 these days. Joe is right, everything else will cost you a lot more......especially the bride! Quote
randroid Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Ed, No I don't but I sure wish I did because I think one of those would help Lynn's intimidation of Pigiron. Not to steal the thread so much as I'm curious if there are any others here who's spouses are intimidated by their rides? Not delving into delicate psyches here but Lady Lynn has only driven floor shifts and I've had Pigiron longer than we've known each other and a dozen other valid reasons that she's afraid of wrecking it. Now that it's actively being painted I think I may have severed the head of Medusa but I figure a few days roaming the prairies in the east and the mountains in the west and she'll probably get into it. Anyone else fessin' up? Please answer Ed's question first. -Randy Quote

She refused to drive my International pickup because it was a three in the tree. I got her to drive my '41 once in the 20+ years I have had it. Something about a column shift really intimidates her. I've tried to explain it is just an H pattern vertically rather than horizontally but she doesn't want to hear it............LOL............Tim Quote
louie the fly Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Has anyone ever done the numbers on what the spouse life cycle cost is??? Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Cost? Everything you've got. And more. Quote
ptwothree Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 My wife made a present of my '51 ply to me....what a girl!! Quote
Alshere59 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Has anyone ever done the numbers on what the spouse life cycle cost is??? I tried it on a calculator once. It didn't work as it only had 8 digits. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 I've figured out the costs and benefits of my marriage of 47 years, and concluded that I got the better of the deal. As long as I keep thinking that way, life will continue to be sweet. Quote
Alshere59 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Agreed. I wouldn't change a thing. Quote

BeBop138 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Ed, I went thru about half of my 1948 Life mags and didn`t see one ply ad. Do you know what year and the month too would narrow it down for me. If I got it---it`s free.............Lee Quote
Young Ed Posted March 13, 2011 Author Report Posted March 13, 2011 Lee I have no idea when it was published. Not even sure it was in life. First anniv is coming up and I'm trying to frame one of these for the wife. Quote
BeBop138 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 By looking at the picture what year is it? Will go from there......Lee Quote
Young Ed Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Its a p15 so 46-48. Not much help either. Quote

I ran it by an expert (my wife of 22 years) and she agrees, you'd score MAJOR romance points. IMHO I think you should spring the $10 bucks plus shipping and go through with it; the results would be priceless. I wish I had thought of it first. Good luck! Quote
Young Ed Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Ken I took your advice after hearing where it was from. Its probably more uncommon then all the others. We used my 48 plymouth in our wedding(along with my pickup) and took our honeymoon in it. So this will be perfect. Quote
1940plymouth Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Just for giggles I snail mailed the man in Mass that I deal with for old Plymouths ads asking he has this, I'll let you know his response Quote
Young Ed Posted March 14, 2011 Author Report Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks Bob I might be interested in a second one Quote
Young Ed Posted March 31, 2011 Author Report Posted March 31, 2011 Update. The ad was dropped off yesterday for framing. I will see it again in 2 weeks and will post a picture of the final result. Should look great. Quote
