I've been bored lately with my Plymouth. I have been thinking of a ton of custom touches that could be done to relieve my boredom. My whole goal for this car is to make it as classy a custom as possible.

About 2 years ago a friend of mine gave me a set of really nice '55 Olds headlight trim rings. I have been meaning to install them on my Plymouth since but I have been wrapped up with a bunch of other things.

So just a few weeks ago all my buddies got on my *** about getting to work on it. Well, my fellow Iron Lord, Jerm, and I decided we would attack the project.

Jerm being the sheetmetal god of the club really made it look simple. I was the apprentice. We still have a few things that need to be finished but I learned alot from this project.

Here's the before;

And the after;

I think this may have opened a can of worms for me. My mind won't stop racing.

Just thought I would share.

No. The trim rings are even with the stock headlight location. The Olds rings just lean forward which makes it appear that I stretched the whole fenders.

Thanks,

had a school marm when in grade school many years ago that had eyes that looked ike that...

maybe go with the lake pipes and maybe a matched set of rear antennas..look at the the 54 Plymouth eyelids for that stretched look..a bit less popeyed but accented all the same...

I found a nice set of the lake pipes while in Charlotte last mmet..never beenused...MOON covers etc etc..

Looks good, I like the striping too. I saw a Kaiser today that had a unique bumper that I thought would look good on a custom, don't ask me model and year cause I don't know Kaisers very well.

very cool! congratulations! the car was nice before, but now it's got something of a shark or something, don't know how to put it, but i like it!:cool:

did you take work-in-progress-pics?

Thanks for the psitive replies guys!

You know what's funny? I posted this over at the HAMB and here. I thought you guys would be less responsive and way more negative and the HAMB would be more positive but I was way wrong. I guess you have a better way of seeing the finished product than they do.

Oh well, I'm really happy with how they turned out but I have some more metal work that needs finished. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

those other guys at the hamb might just be jealous...:P

ever thought of fender skirts? they'd look great. i think.

I've been going back and forth between skirts and radiusing the rear wheel openings. On customs from the 50's and 60's some guys would radius the openings and I really like it. So I am not sure what to do.

I went to the HAMB and read your thread, they are a pretty straight up bunch over there and had some valid opinions and ideas. Personally I like what you've done with your car including the headlights. REALLY dig the skirts, gives my an idea for my 52.

If you change the grill I would be interested in buying your take-off parts cause mine are a little rough.
