  1. Does it stick through enough that you can drill a hole in it and use a cotter pin?
  2. Very nice. It also shows that she knows what you like.
  3. the vent hole is under that cap.
  4. One of the millions of reasons that I don't live in a city.
  5. did you paint chrome and glass? If so why?
  6. Since I got the points bounce fixed I readjusted the timing a bit and then had to resync the carbs.
  7. looking good.
  8. I put in all 4 discs and kept the original MC. Yes it's a single not a dual. I won't drive it as an everyday car so I'm willing to risk that.
  9. http://www.carburetor-parts.com/Stromberg-BXOV-1-BXOV-2-BXVD-3-BXV-3-BXUV-3-BXOV-26-1-Barrel-Carburetor-Rebuild-Kit_p_723.html This guy usually will sell the parts seperately as well.
  10. They are tape. Can't find a pinstriper within 200 miles of me that wants to do it.
  11. The trip to town and back went with no problems. 55mph for 9 miles each way. Big grin.
  12. I would love a case of those. Lol. Store fruit up here is either green or over ripe. They can't seem to get the haul timing correct.
  13. I am very happy to say it runs sooooooo much better now. As Plymouthy Adams said I most likely will not swap out the dual carb for the stock config now. Have to do a little bit more tweaking but It's way good enough for a trip to town this afternoon. Thanks to everyone that helped. It is much appreciated.
  14. I had mine powder coated and don't regret the cost at all.
  15. it does. more confirmation.
  16. Later today when chores are done I'll test run them.
  17. Thanks for the confirmation Don. I appreciate you taking the effort to do it.
  18. and what does the tab go under so that tension to close is put on the points?
  19. I just tried it under the copper and it does work that way. I will remove mine and reinstall. Thanks Merle. It never crossed my mind that it would go under the copper.
  20. Merle I thought the same as it has a tab on the spring that looks as if it should go somewhere. See photos. Where would it go? There is no gap under the small brown insulator for it to fit under. It's a flush fit.
  21. it will sure be easier that going back to single carb. Changing oil now. Has a gas smell to it.
  22. points ordered.
  23. I believe that I will have to buy a set that has one end staked. The set that I have has almost no pressure keeping the points closed. Thanks.
  24. I and a couple of other people think that the reason my coupe runs poorly is because of points bounce. With the point set that I'm using there seems to be no way to anchor the flat spring to two places. It anchors to the screw where the wire goes but how does the other end press against anything? There seems to be very little pressure keeping the points in contact. They open really easy. This is the set that I'm using. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/bwd-3123/ignition---tune-up-16776/points---condensers-16855/ignition-breaker-points-12492/6aeeda0d49cf/bwd-ignition-contact-set/a81/2585686/1947/dodge/custom?q=points&pos=2 Anyone have a photo of how it's suppose to be? The manual photo isn't clear but from what I can see there';s nothing to compress the spring.
  25. I always liked the kick starter on these. So much easier than pulling with a rope.
