  1. First time I've had time to work on the Pontiac in 2 1/2 months. I'm not going to be able to work on it for another 3 or 4 weeks but after that I should have free time again.
  2. A recap. When I received my reconditioned clock from the repair guy it would run for days hooked straight up to a battery on the bench. But, would run for about 15 to 20 minutes only when mounted in the car and hooked up to the full time hot terminal on the headlight switch that the diagram said it was suppose to go to. Had time yesterday to run a wire from the clock hot to the battery. Took it off of the headlight terminal. Ran for about 22 hours and stopped again. Tapped it and it restarted and has been running for another 7 + hours. Will see how long it runs this time. Last thing that doesn't work on the coupe. Hoping to get it going full time.
  3. After my rebuild mine pegged the needle. Tried lower viscosity oil no good, bought a new pressure valve still high, took a few coils off of the spring a bit at a time and got it down to 60psi at 55 mph if it's a real hot day up here and the temp reaches 180 on the meter it will drop to 57 but I can drive most of the summer up here and rarely will the temp get to the 180 thermostat operating temp.
  4. Very nice. Looks as if it's already going back together. lol
  5. Haven't been working on the 55 in a while. Had to go down to my son's and spent 4 weeks finishing his basement. 1800 square feet. Still have to go back on 2 June to finish. I've also been getting next winters firewood done and have pulled up my oak flooring, planed the old finish off, relayed to get rid of the shrinkage cracks, sanded and am finally putting finish on. Just wanted to let everyone know I'll be back on it around the end of June.
  6. Cleaning and painting sure makes a frame look great again. Hats off to you Nick for taking the long hard way of putting your car back on the road. Looks great.
  7. I buy mine from Orielly's.
  8. Very nice. There was a 35 Plymouth 5 window coupe at the car show that I went to today. Had a 350 in it though. too bad.
  9. wipers should be down at the bottom of the windshield.
  10. I took mine out 4 or 5 times trying to get it adjusted just right. Never happened. Reads 3/4 when full. Better low than higher reading.
  11. Nice ingenuity and tutorial Sam.
  12. I plan on it Dave. I believe that I've talked Gary M into bringing his 37 Hudson. Same one that was at the gunshow. His Son in law took it there.
  13. Thanks Joe. I'm checking them out.
  14. Big box store? I live in Alaska. The nearest big box store is Costco and Sam's and is 300 miles away. lol
  15. That's the main problem with mine. At idle it sounds great. Anything faster and it gets real brappy and loud.
  16. Yes. The ones that take it from narrow to wide. I've searched for them but don't know the name.
  17. That piece that connects to the rear of the crossover and then to the mufflers, know the what they are called? Two of those could move my inboard muffler over out of the way.
  18. Most likely will have to stagger them. What I have now.
  19. If I can get one to fit in the limited space I'd go for quite right now. I will go out and check wiggle room tomorrow and see if I can get two of these in there somewhere. https://www.autozone.com/exhaust/performance-muffler/dynomax-super-turbo-performance-muffler/285344_567314_0
  20. Riding around today I decided that the Cherry Bomb glasspacks have to go. It's not enjoyable to be listening to all that noise. I don't have much room with the dual exhaust. Anyone got any suggestions on a small muffler? 2 1/4" inlet and outlet. The CB's are 23" long and 5.5" diameter.
  21. Ran some errands in it today. Felt good to out and about in it.
  22. Makes it worse. You can't see the only nice part. The front. Even the mods to the fender wells are terrible.
  23. Nice condition and I like the colors as well. Welcome.
