  1. Looks like plenty of fun and a little reward for all your hard work so far have fun with it, just no trips to the lumber yard
  2. great find, very few people make any of our body parts what else don't I know (lol)
  3. I for one, liked the look of the tool box I agree a real keeper. Nothing luckier than a man with tools and nothing that needs fixin right now.
  4. Wow, glad I'm hearing this now before I got even further along, I have 2 thick round rubber pads. just looked up a diagram an no rubber pads shown, but also no washer between. opinions on what seams best?
  5. got to say love the idea of the computer right in the shop would save me bunch of time when confused (well that alot).
  6. What ever Class your in your truck looks First Class to me....
  7. If anyone has pics of the different ways they mounted a new Tanks inc tank in their 48-53 truck please share, I know it will involve some changes since the tank is inch shorter in length, and does not have the hump on top to make the spout come thru the cab a the correct location (looks like some floor mods again)(so much for the time I wasted making the top rubber seal) lol I will have to fab up something different for the front bracket since I do not have the stock trans cross member.
  8. Wow thats a big show. Where, and when is it?
  9. Going to be a great build. First I thought it was the same motor home engine I have when I saw the trans dipstick, but then I saw the distributor. Good luck http://p15-d24.com/topic/36054-basement-build/
  10. It might actually be better off mounted in the dodge truck, because it is not all the way to the very front of the window glass and some of the original dash is there for support in the weak spot, they did not seam to crack due to a thin material dash surface it was because the heat expand and contract was fighting against the way it was mounted in cruiser
  11. If you are gong to modernize it to be a dependable hauler, and were going with new gauges, ac, heat vents, steering ect With the cost of buying everything separate, and fabbing into place. I can see where this would be a real big savings. not to mention it looks great the only draw back I can even see is get the newest dash you can get that still fits the same, because the are know to crack over time, then protect it. (Have a PT cruiser) When you add up all you would buy to achieve the same look and function you can't beat it.
  12. Wow, sound like a real neat project, always loved the COE's can't wait to see some pics.
  13. Thanks I still have the CAB on the Front Porch to mock things up, prior to stripping it the rest of the way and starting body work. Will have to work fast due to alot of rain Cover on cover off pain in the A___.
  14. Basically the MII crossmember butts up against the bottom of the frame and then it is all gusseted and the frame rails are boxed. I will see if I can dig up some pics.
  15. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaf-all76100?seid=srese1&gclid=CJeeiuvYvr4CFetlOgodTFIADA Summit racing Allstar performance ALL76100 it was one of the wider boxes so I could put a big Battery if needed a little modification and some welding extra hold down support from back part of running board bracket
  16. Mustang II, from Jim Weimer Rod Garage Belgium WI
  17. I kinda thought you were going with a patriotic theme
  18. thanks for the info. will check it out...
  19. Well it took a little doing, but I finally got the motor out the basement (No easy task), and into the frame, so I can start to figure out the rest of this puzzle. Steering and drive shafts, fuel tank and much more. Already looks as if Starter may get in the way, May have to look into smaller starter. Sometimes it feels as if I'm doing everything twice LOL.
  20. Keven sent message thanks hope they turn up. Your the Best. Dropped the engine in frame today so I can Mock up a bunch more stuff. Stepped on new air cleaner to carb adapter (cracK) what a clutzzzzz thank God it was cheap. Will try to post a few pics tonight after car club meeting
  21. Wow that something to be proud of. Good job make the old girl safe, and keeping you safe
  22. 1948 vacuum going to try to switch to electric newport engineering motor, but (have abnormal space issue and will have change their pre- designed system by rotating the motor 180 degrees to clear under dash shifter. plan to try using these type transmission because the are equal length and and that should mean that the park position on the motor will be the same. I hope
  23. Very impressive how fast you figured it all out. Makes me think that the frame swap was the way to go. I stayed away from it because a lot that you see do not have the front wheels centered in the wheel well. You pulled it of and fast. You have talent and drive to make this a great truck you will be able to drive everyday. Feeling pretty stupid right now..... looking forward to seeing more
  24. Got to say, loved your ac plumbing inside the fender will try to see I can do some thing similar even though my condenser is set up different did not think of drilling thru that curved front shield like that, my hole saw died on that tough old steel and had go old school to get it done
  25. One of my wiper pivots is missing the spline cap that the wiper arm attaches to. can this be repaired? is it pressed on? where would I find one to try?
