Well I got a little done, the condenser is mounted with the horseshoe in front of the radiator. and the AC/heater is test fitted and defrost vents and ac vents fitted and paper templates were made for kick panel options later. One of the pics attached is of the wiper trans, as you can see one of the wiper mounting heads is missing , does anyone know if this can be fixed? also some mystery holes that look factory in the rear of the cab wall 2 perfect punched clean hole anyone know about these? Let me know if you do or know of a source for the wiper parts.

Good choice on the 360 and 727 ( LOL) because that's what I'm doing. I'm sure you have much experience than I have, But I went Mustang II and with the 360 I felt I had to move the firewall to get it to sit right (truck oil pan was different, and with the 360 I was told to Box the front frame witch might be harder with old steering box (not sure) Engine mounts were nice and easy I'm with you could not put a Ford or Chevy engine in her. Plan 3 moves ahead and remember things like accelerator linkage and kickdowns as you plan. good luck and keep at it

So far using the Hurricane HEAT/ AC unit I have not had to change the original dash set up too much for the AC( made my one gauge panel for in front of the steering wheel out of an extra glove box lid. the AC vents are going to be 4 round style pods Went with round to pick up gauge and speaker shapes) one at the outside edge of the dash against the (someday kick panel) and one under each speaker grill (about 3 inches) . The plan is to put the controls in a pod under the key switch. Had to get that pod from different company OldAirs was too long. So far Leg room should not be an issue. Stock style adjustable bench with tilt steering, no shifter on floor and have been able to keep trans hump small, going to go with painless 4 position push pull headlight switch to eliminate foot dimmer. Some times I feel like I am putting the cart before the horse in planning all this out NOW when I have so much more body work to do to the cab. But My Friends in my Car Club (Over the Hill Kruzers) tell me to do all of that now so I will not tear the whole thing up later (since there is so little room to work) after work is done

Plymouthy Adams Good call on the Hurricane AC. Thats what I just got Fedx got the 3100 because it had lower stub out for connections and was electronic not cable. They did fail to mention the electronic def louver motor switch adds 2 inches to the top left corner of the unit but did my Cutting on the new firewall today hated to do it but had to be done. So far, so good on getting unit to fit with my deep inset firewall. Got a couple different plans for stereo nothing high end I really don't use them much, except when I'm pulling into a car show or something. Would be real interested to see some pics of your creative wiper set ups. Not to thrilled about the prospect of buying a new system from Newport and not being able to make it work. My Idea was to rotate the motor and some how readjust the park position to something I can live with. Called them they did not think it would work (call me hard headed. But I think I can pull it off.

going to get a hamster and a wheel and see what I can do with that, then I'll work on my oil lamp headlights (lol)

Thanks for the tip. I guess my real problem is going to be this under dash Windsor shifter, thought I had it perfect till the planning for wiper and the AC and all. so far all wiper motors except vacuum type have caused a problem. really wanted electric with all the money I'm sinking in this truck. seams like getting vacume mot rebuilt and all was almost as high with only half the benifits

Wow that's one small stereo.... Who makes it? is SST a model or a brand? Thanks for the tip

Well its been a frustrating week. Trying to solve a few problems on fabrication before I put the cab out in the temperamental weather again. First Due to the moved firewall I had to fab a functional Cowl vent mechanize that would not take up too much room. I thought due to the lack of room I would not be able to have a modern AC/Heat defrost system But after dealing with every company in the country, OldAir Products from TX came in with a great size unit. Now I'm try to tackle the Wiper system and Radio location. Love the Newport Engineering Unit but the Motor is sitting the wrong way and looks like it will interfere with the dash shifter. Thought about rotating the motor but will mess up the preset park position. Don't get me started on my plan to put the stereo in the old gauge cluster location (too Shallow) found a real shallow stereo (4in deep) but that also had problems. Now I noticed my wiper trans and Wiper arm mounts are messed up too. Well if it was easy everyone would be doing it right.

Oh and by the way sometimes patina has more value to people than a good paint job these days Look what they are getting for bare metal and rust on a pilothouse thats more than alot of nice trucks http://www.ebay.com/itm/261465800780?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 -

You come along way back, some of us would have thrown in the towel, I'm sure that what ever you decide to do to the truck it will never have as much character as you do for sticking by her when the going got tough. -
the Night watchman's truck is just a idea of where I may take this Indian theme if I get more actual Springfield plant stuff. But one of the things that I have done with this truck was put Fold-down Motorcycle foot pegs on both the drivers and passenger kick panels a few people have saw that and loved the idea. They said it would keep their girl from putting feet on the dash.

here is a pic of the extra in the bed Tank that will be going in the Indian shop truck. The plan is to plumb it into the new main stock style gas tank from tanks inc for long road trips

Visors, Interior and the ornament look great -
Yeah Chris I saw it the spent 62,000.00 in the bike area alone. They sure kind sniff out those old Indians Looks like that Brewery is going to be expanded now. Speaking of The Spingfield Plant one of the Idea's I have kicking around was the Night watchman's truck for the Springfield Indian Plant I have some good old retro Signs and a Plant Security Guard badge.

Great Find. I would have pulled the trigger without seeing it also at that price. I am sure you could not be hurt at the price I paid half that for a firewall LOL

Antique Truck Club of America 35th Annual National Meet

I lived in that area before, great show great trucks a good showing of Dodges there and lots of Mack trucks with Allentown PA not being far. -
Thanks Loved the Kramer video LOL Agreed If I had an Indian it sure would have to been ridden (maybe I could park it near it.) One Member mention tan might look good so I remembered a truck I saw in Classic trucks once and loved the color and it would go with all the historic indian signage I have collected for the project. Tell me what you think of the color Its called Deltona Fort Walton Beach Beige. the front grill bars would have to be a cream color to tie in with the faces on the Indian lights link to color http://www.classictrucks.com/features/1301clt_1956_ford_f_100/

Thanks Chris, Hank , Jeff, Drifter99, ggdad1951, Merle, Pflaming, gramps1951, RodFru2u You have no Idea how great it feels to have any encouragement from others that you might be on the right track. Sometimes I start to doubt the idea and loose my motivation to face the weather or let the aches and pains get to me. You've got me recharged and out working today. Thanks.

Thanks I've seen a hundred Harley pickups over the years at car shows and not one Indian and not even a hell of a lot of Dodges so I thought I'd take a run at it. Some year when its finished can't wait to take it to a large Bike week called Mountain Fest here in WV and just put in the parking lot with all the old bikes
-
The paint on the dash is just rust reformer I put on after I sanded it down to repair a large rust area. But someone else said they liked the flat black look with white face gauges. I guess I will put it on the list of possible interior colors it would also make the seat frame blend better with the seat
-
Thanks guys kinda expected to get blasted for all the crazy changes, but the truck was a real basket case with not a lot of original parts to work with so it was not like I ruined a great original. Have some different idea's for a few things and borrowed a few great idea from members on how to make the drive train work. The Black box is a slide out under seat tool box like they did in the late 30's. The front fenders already had hole for turn lights so they will get the Indian lights also only shaved down to sit flat on fender tops. The rubber flooring was inlayed with rubber Indian motorcycle bar mats. All I need to do is start saving my pennies for a Old Indian Bike to haul around in the bed LOL

Well Spring is here and despite the Lack of a garage and the off/ on rain I have been able to get a few things mocked up at least, on my project truck. It's not going to be alot of members cup of tea but I decided to do a Indian Motorcycle tribute shop truck out of my 48. Since it was just a shell of a truck to start with that my girl brought me for building her D100 Utiline that she takes to car shows. I thought I build something a little different. OR at least try (no Mechanical talent) the Plan is 360/727 with windor shifter under dash and a Indian gas pump tank in the bed, AC, PS, Mustang II front end with Cherokee rear. Well I might have bit off more than I can chew but slow and steady will get it done some day.

Hi since you changed out the fuel tank is the tank bracket the same as a 48 Truck? if you are not going to use it I would be interested in buying it from you. Also what ac unit did you use thanks
