  1. Well I built my firewall around everything that I thought would get in the way LOL Hope I did it right mocked up the brake and gas and steering battery driveshaft just not the exhaust, well I hope I left enough room time will tell.
  2. what was the reason for the 2 inch off set ? gas and brake pedal room or something else? I did my fire wall the same 7 in turned out great but did not do a off set for 360LA motor.
  3. great first class job! take plenty of pics of how you do the door glass LOL I have been dreading it . Will need all the reference I can get my hands on when I tackle it. Once again Let me say you have to be proud of what you have accomplished.
  4. Just a dumb question the grill guards that had the Large D in the center, does a 2 ton grill fit a 1/2 ton truck also, they look like the same size afar as the grill shape and size. just wondering saw one for sale and was not sure.
  5. can't wait to see and read more. wow never heard of the wagon body swap thing, sounds interesting
  6. Awesome you will not have to carry a cell phone, just learn Morse code
  7. I'm with you TrampSteer I like the way a staggered set of wheels and tires look. I think the rake is very important and nothing whatsoever makes more difference in the look of a truck than wheels and tires and how it sits (including paint). All I can say is it one of the most time consuming decisions you will make. I wish you luck but seeing that I have not been able to make a choice myself, All I can say is you made great choices thus far stick to your gut. and measure
  8. great pictures on this post until I saw this I was real confused with what Roberts sent me for the door. A few questions buy the look of the pictures and the video it looks to me as if the top door seal and the top door frame seal over lap for a distance is this correct? Also the door bottom seal or what you called lollypop seal. did you mount the handle part of the lollypop between the bottom of the door frame and the door frame valance? the original rubber pics you have show some kind of clips Roberts sent me 2 styles one looks like it is for the window tract the other not sure.
  9. saw that this 1948 made the 2015 Detroit Autorama top 10 list of cool trucks http://www.hotrod.com/events/1503-top-ten-trucks-from-the-2015-detroit-autorama/
  10. Make sure you make a video of all the work and fun you have, when you do the swap with your father and Grandfather. Three generations all together working on your truck will be something that you will want to have a record of (trust me) Wow that large brass Flip switch is something never seen that before. Working at a body shop sure will give you a lot of experience that will help later. Good luck and hope to see pic's as you progress.
  11. Well I got my new extra small rubber welting in and took a few pic's to compare it to normal welting others have used. to show the difference I think it will work out fine for me
  12. I know this sale was not taken lightly, it's not like any of us get into these trucks to flip trucks to make money LOL. But I hope the sale lightens your physical work load and you and enjoy other aspects of your life. We all will have memories of what a cool truck it was and what we all learned together
  13. You guys are living proof that the eyes are not the first thing to go. You all have an eye for detail.
  14. Thanks, glad it worked out. I don't have the old escutcheons or the springs LOL was looking for a cheaper short cut myself I have plenty of time , know where near needing yet
  15. How did this work out for you dontknowitall? did you encounter any problems? was thinking the same thing. Dodge outside ford inside was there any problems since their Escutcheons are different? and have teeth that go into the door panel? did you still have to use a spring? how about the handle pin. Let me know if you can
  16. Back on the road in no time at all, it sounds like you almost there.
