  3. Thanks BARRY and you too Keven Though Id look around here since I had to drive back anyhow and could save on shipping those bumpers were heavy... Those Fords and chevys get all cheaper reproduction deals us mopar guys either have to pay a arm and a leg or deal with what we got. Also Keven great pic I can only hope to get mine back in shape one day. One more thing I need to find is the splash shield for in front of the running boards have one not sure what side it is but will work on that when I get home

  6. Hi guys I'm down in FL on vacation and have a chance to go to Daytona Turkey Run/Swap meet on the 28th thought I'd look for a front bumper that might work with 48 mounts, but being away from the truck do not have measurements with me. Have seen new 48 ford truck front bumpers in chrome at swap meets here for 130.00 similar mount style mount. any one have stock bumper measurements I can use as a guide? I have only seen 1 pilothouse truck in the 30 or so shows and cruises so far that we have went to. The Bumper Boys from TX were at a few shows but want crazy money. Any Ideas what else might fit on a 48 ? thanks
  7. love your rig how are those horns mounted on the pilot house cab?
  8. So very sorry for your loss. I can only say that having gone through the same once myself you have more than ever to be thankful for and every day is a gift.
  9. Great truck and a leap forward I want to be adopted by a dad like you....LOL
  10. Hi and welcome fellow mountaineer. Where in WV? I'm in Fairmont WV. I look forward to seeing more of the truck if the deal goes thru.
  11. what ever direction you go, just make it safe and have fun with it. Too many people get hung up on making it perfect, it only has to be perfect for you. I myself am turning1948 into a Indian motorcycle tribute shop truck. as a dealer might have had it in 48 I guarantee that the person who had your truck before you, had a big smile on his face once he got it running. Just take it to the next level you want. Good luck
  12. That's beautiful. 1st class job
  13. Definitive Rubber list When in come to weather stripping gaskets and seals there seams to be a wide range of choices out there none of them real cheap. It seams to be the majority opinion from what I gleaned from this site, that when it come to the split windshield Steele Rubber PN 40-0332-50 at 165.00 is worth the money. But what about the rest. Will I have to search and read hundred of pages on each rubber part on the truck to save a buck and get a good fit ? Some things on Steele’s list seam out of touch price wise. Putting a total set out of reach for a lot of us on a budget. (INSANE DEFINED When you spend more on window rubber than you paid for the truck. Has any of our experts developed a most bang for the buck list, for the rest of the rubber parts with the least amount of complaints, and fits right without having to form it ,piece it together, and without breaking the bank. I realize it will most likely take one of the site experts to compile this list because the way the reply's go on without a real end, and I know the site has sponsors but they should each make the cut on at least few things. If we had all the money back we wasted on rubber that did not work right we all could have saved another Pilothouse Dodge One thing for sure that seamed High was Vent Rubber going for 150.00 and that does not include the divisional seal add 15.20 more total 155.20 for a pair of windows that a total of 2 Square ft Looking for the best bang for the Buck Vulcanized Rear Center window seal Vulcanized Rear Corner window seals Pair Door Kit pair or each Vent window seal Pair Divisional Post seal Cowl Vent Seal Fender welt Cowl Lacing Fender filler Window bumpers Window Channel Window Sweeper and anything else I missed

  16. WOW what a great project I can only dream to get to the point you are now, before you even start your new under taking. Sounds like you have it all mapped out. good luck looking forward to your progress.
  17. Wow Looks great I agree with the comment about a 318. Working on 48 truck with 360 also. If I had a dollar from everyone who stopped by and thanked me for trying to keep it MOPAR I could afford to finish it now rather than later LOL seams to help if you ever sell it too.
  18. looking for the gutter tray it has a few little tack type welds holding it in and the hinges for cowl vent are part of the gutter itself. that's really what I need but will consider the whole thing.
