  1. Get the Mopar factory Parts book as it will have the s/n listed in the first chapter. Or post your S/N and see if we can match it in the parts book. DMV should accept the factory parts book as legit.

  4. I live up one the coastal canyons in California on the urban/wilderness boundary. A month ago in one of the vacant lots we had a mountain lion take a deer for breakfast and drag it back up the ridge. Gotta respect those big cats!
  5. I flew in one of those amphibians many years ago on vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Cool part was when I boarded the pilot asked me if I wanted to sit up from in the co-pilot seat. Even better was the window opened and you could poke you elbow out! Taking off in 2-3 foot chop was pretty intense. Still remember him cranking up the landing gear. Those days are gone.
  6. If no success try Instrument Services. Contact info on the links page.

  10. Welcome to the community and thank you for your service! Looks like you have a solid survivor to start your journey. Get it back on the road and you will have a great sense of accomplishment.
  11. Welcome to the community!
  12. 2nd Don's comment, then stick with oil, you will need to service it maybe once a year. And it filters better!
  13. Buddy of mine had one back in the early 70's. Fun, fun ride! Another buddy had the Alpine version, no so fun
  14. I sent in my old lines form my truck for duplication. Used a bicycle shipping box. They have pretty good instructions how to do it so they will fit in the box and they can put it back together to get the correct angles. Made the reassembly job very easy.
  15. I would take them out and send to Inline tube for duplication. After installing the new ones you won't have to worry about it for another 66 years!
  16. I would suggest you have something else going on as I have never heard of a bendix snapping.
  17. Definitely has an interesting roof line, never seen one before. Cam drives the oil pump, oil pump has a slot in the end that the tang on the end of distributor fits into. (See Don's distributor pic) First thing I would check is making sure the tang is set in the oil pump. If you can freely spin the distributor rotor it's not set. Report back what you find.
  18. Mcmaster Carr has them up to 2-1/2"
  19. With a auto choke I would not pump the accelerator 3 times before starting. Pretty sure the correct procedure is key on, one pump only (which sets the choke butterfly, then hit the starter. If that is not the correct procedure for this type of auto choke I'm sure another member will post an update. With the multiple pumps of the gas you may be flooding it.
  20. Your actually are going in two different directions. If you want higher hi-way speeds ODs or a taller rear end is the way to go. But for towing a stock 4.1 is going to be way easier on your clutch. And in a lot of states your are still limited to 55 mph when towing. For class 1 (under 2 K ) stock brakes will get the job done if they are in excellent condition except for brake fade when used repeatedly like coming down a mountain (first hand knowledge on this issue) so a front disk upgrade is a good call if your towing a lot. At 2500 tow I would stay away from going with a taller rear end and you are also going to need to upgrade your rear springs and shocks (I went with adjustable air shocks) with a 250 to 300 pound tongue weight. The trucks get around the issue by having a compound low (granny first gear) to get you rolling when you have a load to pull.
  21. Years ago when I still lived in Indy I got a hole in the rear of my diff case from a gear fragment off the ring gear. I went to a local shop to swap in a new third member from the junk yard. The mechanic pulled the drum with a length of chain and a hammer. Anyone have any idea how he did it? (the exact steps have long faded away) He was good, took him less than an hour to do the full swap including welding the hole in the back of the diff case.
  22. I just took a long look at it last month. Concerns were it is focused on the forums and none of the other content. Plus in reading through the reviews on the IPS support forum it seems to have a lot of bug issues that impact the user experience, especially posting images. They do get them resolved eventually. I understand the current mobile/tablet offering is less than optimal and will be finally addressed with the next version of the IPS forum software. It is currently in beta and I would expect a production release Q2 2015. That said, if their is sufficient interest in Tapatalk I would consider doing a test run. If others are interested please add your response to this thread.
  23. Ahh newbie grasshopper, p15-d24.com contains many wonders... Go to the Links page (Reference menu at the top, Links in the drop down menu) and search on Unity.
  24. Also get a factory parts book for your car. It has photos in the Body section.
