Really don't want to rain on your parade but I would return that one and get the one with gas. Quality of welds is better with gas and you can also run flux core. Check out this cleaner http://www.weldfabulous.com/ and http://www.newmetalworker.com/reviews/lncnzlgelrvu.html

All the above plus just go buy a couple. They are a consumable item and are pretty cheap. I keep spares on hand as noting is worse than having to drop everything in the middle of a job and run to the store for some tips. Also get a tip cleaner and gel to coat the nozzle.

Sure you have a 1 ton and not a 1-1/2 ton? Having the pto is pretty unusual for a 1 ton. Do the front fenders have flares bolted on? How many lug nuts on the wheels, 5 or 6? -

Yes, the lower pulley has flats to get the belt installed. -

I've done it for years and never had an issue. You just trying to stop a rust bond from forming.

Do it right and replace the rivets. When you put it back together use some grease or anti-sieze on the tapered portion of the axle. It you use the correct puller and technique (read the Resources section of this site) it will be not drama. Based on 45 years of hands on experience. And welcome to the community!

Had the 225 in a '68 Dodge Dart. Choke was crap, always stumbled when cold. Finally fixed that problem with a manual choke. Gas mileage was crap also, never saw over 20 mpg even at 55 MPH cruise. Once it was warmed up it did pull good and had decent performance. "Economy" of these engines are way overrated.
