  1. Get a disc from a motorcycle with caliper and mount on diff as a shaft brake. Hydraulics to master cylinder.
  2. Funny I posted this several days ago
  3. Plymouthy Adams is right. These frame are jig welded and precise. There aren't many movie documentation on frame production but watch this movie from 1936 fast forward to 19:17 see how mechanical robots made frames. Imagine what Chrysler could in 1949.
  4. Slow motion video of working see through carburetor. See through flat head
  5. Highway driving, I'd get brighter brake lights.
  6. Just info for those who like the period correct look, there are now shrink tubing produced looking like braided wiring. I've used them for my heavy gauge battery cables
  7. RPM should be around 450. If it stalls, turn idle mix screw CCW. Has it solved staying in 4th ?
  8. Never knew Stewart Warner made Datafax machine. Cool
  9. Please add an extra fuse for headliner interior lamp wiring. These are hot even when ignition off. Someone I know had a 37 Cadillac. Cloth isolation was brittle, while in garage, touched roof, heated wiring red hot and headliner burned car to the ground.
  10. That's weird. I also have a 41 and mine has the solid ones. Viewing photos of parts list they are solid. Photo on manual (printed 1940) show cast wheel like yours. Further reading part list they changed these to solid in 41/42. So Dodgeb4ya is correct the later ones will work. Attached page from part list, see note 2 22.pdf
  11. If you don't use shrink tubing, you could repair the old cloth with liquid electrical tape.
  12. DCPD where used everywhere on engine and transmission. Head bolts have other marking probably made and hardened elsewhere. Body fasteners are special MoPar crown bolts. If your engine lack these, it's not a virgin ?
  13. And what did you fill it with? In 3 gear, what speed does upshifting occur ? The answer will make for easier diagnosing.
  14. Have you found ant bolts with DCPD ?
  15. Again? This subject was discussed not long ago.
  16. Cloth wirings don't burn easily. Heat guns have heat range dials. Shrink tubing available in different isolation thickness, color and with glue. Any broken wiring's, fixed with solder wire connector and same heat gun. Never use electrical tape or wire tapping connectors
  17. Right now we have 60 F We don't have bush fires, no earthquakes, no heat wave, no fires, no hurricanes, no dry weather. All in all just boring. We don't have any natural disasters other than our politicians.
  18. Owing a 41. would love to se the 42 strip ?
  19. You are correct. It's called a Roller-Type Burnisher. But for our hobby cars it will be fine. Miller uses a dual spiral type reamer for king pin bushings.
  20. One step at the time. Forget timing for now. You have a more serious issue. As mentioned before, your miss correspond with vacuum gauge and rpm. One or more valves are not closing properly. Watch needle in beginning of video. Plug distributor vacuum port and set at TDC. Find cylinder with leak down test. Fix it and then mess with timing and advance curves.
  21. 107 = 42 C ok that's hot weather. We have around 65-70 and 58 F at night
  22. At least you can buy non ethanol. We don't have that option. We have option of E5 or E10 meaning 5 or 10% bioethanol E5 Ethanol is only available as 100 octane. So timing has to adjusted.
  23. These tanks are popular with hot rodders. Cheap, easy to modify. https://www.ebay.com/itm/392625662283?fits=Year%3A1955|Make%3AChevrolet&hash=item5b6a50294b:g:G5IAAOSwVEteLTK5 https://www.ebay.com/itm/133382622507?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item1f0e394d2b:g:pNEAAOSwUdZejmwj&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACkPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSHYXPhGXR5uguexJBeHwfgTG%2FdPNuI9%2BfaqDnPQ%2BiZLEdduHClvCDfvikyTNulIht9KywX0hzOeaIIVJj3%2B%2Fbmo9WvXC%2B1Nt4Eqvmys%2FL0XZ5bw3MqRhZ0f9u1cCOPxMHAihIVouOD8jCo4M05M404%2B0S47dsSv%2B4w%2B3FfAnkf66nCo20akml6ftMbnG35rQ%2FRrjH5pnKx15Axs%2FKNzJ1Nxwmr9f9vi4v6%2BMaIh4L%2FGsUFmWP4B443XScI6j%2BH1UO74GFUD8XovXUrvFKAHR1nIDiRSpOeucC7q5SVFg%2Bvg5EF4HYEsKlAvFkUuOOAypkY9pJFmSmPUuJNmWtTIWEw373S8Sfs8Xa8RuaPf4rMJrz3wrzWHtmv%2FpaSnCe9%2FvwkPKQG%2BupGgKkvOCdgCE4jFxcgWHvXUAYfTMuuNVRroRrvNZqfVCum2pIB3i9Dy9loCKOtTW2F3xA%2Fz3CGBYmFZ%2FaU2xURDCitA4cUMdJyhBIeGXo7agiGj%2FKZJ%2Fw6ul9Hd4e%2Fxw4Mz8aSRXyNyk4jLJXD49b8oM5eZ5ZrX%2FtJGgIJk%2B8dvehIADSZkZO1twu%2B6VBNOSgfAUW8e5ew6NYGdLj%2F7Rpr2rId9MbVVRg6W7HCXcIOQtIMvbMiCyvTHS2fB9oT2l0LZUrpK9G5jTnWuXycllWNBwyl9uL6GvqTOpAHG5Gvh8PYg7lL7oK4nXka2XAEYpqbHT36UfTDS6QVtZyL9x22aGDuYeyGBEZgt2H%2Fm69klhgi5VS8v5vTzgN7QL4Xe60M3jtbPtQIxnDiaEN78YlL9KY6iriXvepnLPBmc4by9hci4Ed6b6DWq9Q|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2334524
  24. I don't think it's a MoPar/Auto-Lite product.
