  1. Nice work!
  2. I've been following the build on the HAMB. There is some craftsmanship in this build. Great job!
  3. Good job. Keep at it.
  4. Very cool event. Thanks for posting. The drags look like fun.
  5. I am surprised by the amount of automation in some parts of the factory. I would love to see the control systems for some of that equipment. Long before computers or PLC's and VFD's. Maybe timing drums with dc motors that could vary line speed? Maybe all mechanical linkages, I just don't know. Anyone know how this equipment was controlled?
  6. Thanks for the pics. Looks like a nice show. Hope it was a little cooler up there than it was here. Only about 30 miles each way for my cruise. Great while we were moving, but hot when we were stopped for a train crossing.
  7. X2 If old time craftsmanship were combined with today's technology we would have a lot less throw away devices.
  8. Some more Mopars from the cruise.
  9. I got to see an original 1918 Chevrolet V-8 in a local collection. Wish I had taken a picture. It was odd looking but definately a V style. This is what I found online. To me the Ford flathead V-8 is a great traditional hot rod engine for a Model-A. Performance aside they just look cool. My uncle claims to have beaten all the local flathead V-8 Fords in the fifties with my Dad's flathead 6 Plymouth though.
  10. Thanks Bob. Spent over an hour looking this morning with no luck. Kinda sucks because I've never seen any like them. They were aftermarket caps that just have four squared "0"s instead of saying DODGE. Most people never notice. In the spring I will probably put my 15" wheels and other caps on but would someday like to go back to these. If anyone comes across one please let me know. There is one on ebay but not quite the same. I could probably put a DODGE one on and no one would ever notice. Hmmm....
  11. I love it, you guys are an inspiration. We all need more fun in our lives.
  12. My daughter and I rode over to the Altoona Downtown Cruise. A lot of nice vehicles. Not too many old Mopars. The three pictured, mine included, were the oldest I saw. On the way home on a deserted section of road I hit a ditch that had been dug across the road and filled in poorly. I heard the left front hubcap fly into the woods. Went back and looked around with no luck. It was dark so I will go back to the area tomorrow and see if I can find it. Not holding too much hope as the terrain is a drainage ditch with thick underbrush. On another note the '50 Plymouth pictured is the one I purchased the motor/tranny and various other parts from for spares when the owner decided to go 318/auto last winter.
  13. I made new bottom mounts for mine. When I Installed the 8.8 rear diff the original bottom mounts were too close to the larger axle tubes and the shocks hit them. I made new mounts to move them ahead a little to clear the axle. I don't think it had any noticeable affect on the operation of the shocks.
  14. Looks like a nice show. Thanks for the pics.
  15. Mark, I am sorry for your loss. Keep the good memories. Sounds like Wes was a hell of a guy. RIP Wes...............Tim
  16. Bob, So sorry for your loss. Prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Tim
  17. Thanks for giving in to the urge. Great pics.
  18. Welcome!
  19. Glad you guys are safe. We felt it in State College, PA. Definitely a first for me.
  20. These old cars are a matter of the heart, rather than a matter of the brain, for me. I would go with what moves me. If I based my old car hobby on value I would have quit years ago.
  21. Nice pictures. I agree the Fairlane looks great.
  22. My '70 was agreat car and very quick. The '74 wasn't half as good a car. I always liked the tail light treatment on the '70. [/img]
  23. I had two Dusters. A '70 340 auto and a '74 318 three speed. Neither was new when I got them. My brother had a 71 340 auto and is currently building a 72 demon that will be 360 four speed powered. I still love those cars.
