  1. Showed the pic to my wife. "What did you do to that car? I don't like it! Told her it was just a fake and she laughed and said "I knew that."
  2. Maintenance Supervisor for Steam Services at Penn State University for the last six months. 20+ years as an instrument tech and electrician in industry and construction. Lost my job of 24+ years to China. I have also run heavy equipment in a strip mine and driven semi truck for short stints. Power plant is all old cool stuff.
  3. Probably sheared a key. Check this out. http://news.smallenginetrblshtng.com/flywheelkey.html
  4. Always wondered how my '41 would look with skirts. So I edited some in. What do you think?
  5. Looking good. Nice progress.
  6. You are a patient man Rodney. Threw it away? What the? Oh well, it is the finished product that counts. Reminds me of Monty Python: "Tis' but a scratch." "A scratch? Your bumper's off!"
  7. LOL! Figure out how to make that work and the world will beat a path to your door.
  8. Reminds me of RainX which works well but does not last long and is a pain to apply on old glass. I wonder if it is breathable once put on fabric? If it is safe on paint and more durable than wax it could be a big hit with the automobile crowd, depending on price. I also purchased a product to keep brake dust from accumulating on wheels that worked but was not cost effective due to its lack of longevity. Intriguing but I am a doubting Thomas. If it works it will probably be too expensive to be practical.
  9. Nice pup. I have a border collie / lab mix named Dakota.
  10. Happy thanksgiving Fred! Another victory with the old truck. My cousin and I took the bed off an old truck when we were about 16. I believe it was a '59 Dodge and had a v8 in it. It would smoke the tires with ease and we convinced a non-gearhead friend that we had built a killer motor for it and just had it in the truck to break it in before putting it in my Satellite. He was telling everyone in town about this killer motor. LOL
  11. Thanks for the ride!
  12. I remember my sister coming home from school devastated. I was 5 at the time and she was about 9.
  13. Congratulations!
  14. I love "dense" donuts. The heavier the better. Glad to see the progress on the house and the car.
  15. Nice going! Congrats!
  16. Moose, I love it! That looks great. How many inches did you chop it?
  17. Gutsy move. Hope it ended well. I'm sure with Moose's talents it did. Lots of great pics.
  18. You are getting there Fred. Good job. Keep us posted.
  19. Check out this site for bearing wear analysis. http://www.engineparts.com/publications/CL77-3-402.pdf
  20. Good to hear of a young man interested in the old cars. Ya done good.
  21. Post away. I am interested.
  22. I'll take a shot at a couple. No guarantees but as I remember them: #3 = 55 Desoto #4 AND #5 = mid 60's Cadillac #6 = 72 Chevy truck #7 = late 70's Chevy truck #10 = 70's Ford Bronco #15 = 70 Plymouth. My Duster and my brothers Cuda both had these
  23. I like the rear angle as well.
  24. If you put 12v in and got 12v out it is probably ok since a break in the resistor would yield 12v in and 0v out. Without a load on the resistor it acts just like a wire. You could do a resistance test because it could be shorted giving you 12v on each end but in my experience they break to an open condition when bad.
  25. Nice pictures of a beautiful machine.
