  1. I posted about six weeks ago about losing a hubcap returning from a cruise in Altoona. Today I took my wife to Altoona to the Mall and decided to come home the back way, just to look again, for about the tenth time. Well lo and behold there it was, perched atop a gate post. Someone had found it and set it there. Probably a hunter as it is a really remote area. Must have been a car guy too or it would have been target practice. No damage to the cap and it really looks good back where it belongs. Small miracle in my opinion as I was doing probably 45mph when I hit the hole and saw it launch over the embankment into the woods. It is a good day!
  2. I have always had problems with mice getting in the headliner of my Dart. The poison in the '41 is usually untouched but disappears quickly in the Dart. Last year I built a bucket trap with peanut butter bait and a used motor oil receiving pool. Thought it didn't work and went to dump it out, it had three mice in it. In all last fall and winter it caught about a dozen mice and the poison in the Dart was left almost untouched.
  3. That cracked me up!
  4. I voted "I don't care". I am just grateful to have a forum. However the owner want's it is ok by me.
  5. Wrap a rag around them, insert compressed air into the brake line hole and pop them apart. Go easy on the compressed air. It doesn't take many psi. Start wit about 5 to 10 psi. Usually pops one side and then you can use something to push the other piston out. I have cleaned up a couple that looked like that and they worked. Some I was not so lucky. I have also heard of making a grease fitting adapter to fit the brake line hole and pump them apart with grease but I've never done it.
  6. Very nice pictures.
  7. Siamese cat. But shhhhh! Don't tell Magoo!
  8. Great pics. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Rodney, glad you got to go and your daughter had a good time. Old cars and family just go hand in hand.
  10. I had a similar problem on my Monte Carlo. Went crazy checking everything. Finally found the finish panel under the dash was slightly out of position. I corrected it and been ok since. I mention it because even if the dakota doesn't have the panel, it takes very little to cause this issue. Make sure you don't have a bundle of wiring or a cable out of place that is hindering free movement of the pedal assembly.
  11. Look forward to the pics.
  12. That is a cool project. When I was a kid my uncle had an early sixties Imperial that was made into a pickup. My dad claimed it would out haul any pickup truck he ever had.
  13. Great progress. Keep posting or at least let us know when you post on the truck side, so I can look over there.
  14. Sounds like a great plan, keep us posted.
  15. Could very well be an 8.25 as well.
  16. Thanks for the ride. Nice truck.
  17. I agree. It looks like a Dana 35C. They were used in Jeeps from what I have read. Attached is a pic of a Dana 35C
  18. Fred, great find. really to see your son is interested too. Look forward to the progress reports.
  19. I see you already had it on the HAMB.
  20. I think it depends how bad you want it. I would think $200 for a complete motor if you don't know any history is on the upper end. If it is a known good runner it would be worth more. On the other hand it is a HEMI and if you really want one it is worth whatever you are willing to pay.
  21. All rainy here and a high about 39. Snowed last night. Looks like a perfect day for a ride there.
  22. Good news, congratulations.
  23. You may get an answer here but this is a great question for the guys on the HAMB. Just be sure to read and follow their rules. http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/index.php
  24. Good advice on the plugs Greg. "Which reminds me I should pull my VW and Honda Plugs before the snow flies". Too late for me as it snowed here over night.
  25. The one we had was pretty much a universal fit. I don't think it mattered how it bolted up as long as it was tight. Yours looks ok to me.
