  1. Decided to go with Royall Purple break in oil. Submerged the new oil pump in oil then spun it up using my drill. Filled engine with oil and got oil pressure up to about 47-48psi using my modified oil pump and drill
  2. I bought both Baldwin and wix filters. The only difference is the beefier rubber gasket for the center hole. Though the Baldwin comes with a paper style gasket for the canister lid and the wix comes with two different sized rubber gaskets. I will use the Baldwin for my first oil change and in the future I will go with the wix for convienance ( I can get the wix at my local parts store)
  3. Looking forward to seeing it at the Clements bbq in April!
  4. Interesting dent on the bottom side of the cab. Dents are like scars. I wonder how he got that one. Looks like you might have the rear view mirror on the center bar option.
  5. I ordered the wix and Baldwin. I will report back later.
  6. Maybe a Baldwin p41?
  7. I just realized that I have the old filter. I wonder if I can cross refrence this guy?
  8. I’m thinking a wix 51011 might be more applicable for my canister
  9. Hmmm. I used the wix 51080. Can you recommend a different filter?
  10. Let me make this topic as tedious as possible The oil will exit the oil bearing passage (photo 1) Enter the canister (photo 2) Poor into the canister (photo 3) Somehow get filtered (photo 4) Exit the bottom of the canister (photo 5) Enter the main oil gallery (photo 6)
  11. Yes. I haven’t plummed it yet. Need some fittings. I will post some photos of the interior of the can when I get home. Thank you.
  12. So do I have mine plummed correctly?
  13. I just noticed the explaination on the last photo. So it should be the opposite of what is shown in photo 3
  14. Yes. Maybe someone can explain which way is correct. Looking up photos. I’ve found them plumbed both ways. Don’t know which is correct.
  15. Don’t drink the whiskey at Don’s house! ?
  16. It’s been slow going lately. Seems like I have to do everything 3 times before I get it correct. Clutch linkage is back together. Plummed new front break lines, vacuum advance and half of the oil filter canister. Anyone have an objection to running 3/16 line to the oil filter? Fittings seem to call for it. BTW. It took me for ever to figure out that you can’t run straight tubing to the block, oil canister or the vacuum advance. You need a fitting in between to seat the tubing. Rookie mistakes galore.
  17. Truck looks great! Congratulations. I bought my bed strips from “horkey’s wood and parts”. As I remember the price wasn’t too painful
  18. Nothing fancy dodgeguy. I cleaned the heat shield up and put a couple coats of rustolium gloss black on it. The 1/4 inch of grease I removed was probably protecting it. I have a iPhone 6S. Removing the “live” option from the photos I take allow me to post on the forum.
  19. You are probably right. Though, I’ve heard George will build a linkage for any intake if you send it to him.
  20. This is the set-up George Asche made for me.
  21. You might try George Asche. I bet if you send your carbs and intake to him. He could set up your carbs and linkage. He set up 2 carters for me with his intake. Don’t know how it works yet. Still putting things back together.
  22. I’m looking for the length/ dimensions for the little bracket that the clutch fork return spring connects to. I’m going to attempt to fabricate one. Either I lost mine during the rebuild or it never had one to begine with. thanks
  23. Thank you
  24. I’m at a loss as to how this heat/ dust shield goes back on. Anybody got a photo or a good explanation on how it bolts on. I have a vague memory that the notch on the side fits over the right rear engine mount. Any help is appreciated Also Anyone know where I can find a clutch fork spring bracket...mine has disappeared .thanks
