  1. when I have a car on the lift and one stored below or working on any other project beneath the lift...the car on the lift blocks the overhead lighting....so I installed these LED lights to solve my poor visibility. These do good considering the overhead lamps are off.
  2. AND.......did he vote both in Tennessee and Indiana.....inquiring minds want to know....
  3. if you zeroed the ohm meter...your original is a bit high...the 3.5 screams internal resistor coil and will be useful only if you are 12 volt and not using a ballast....
  4. as with anything new...you got a learning curve....won't say practice makes perfect but you should improve a bit.....you progress reminds me I need to get back on my car but...I have about 4 smaller projects ahead of restarting...whittled down these to just a handful is an accomplishment in itself.
  5. sadly...this falls into snake oil category......do yourself and the car a favor...renew the seal...if just the seal....you still need to remove the cover so new gasket should be in place here also.....you will loosely fit the screws allowing the cover to float a bit....use the harmonic damper/hub as per case....and let that center the seal properly. Carefully snug up the cover bolts....if there are some the pulley/damper hides...slide it back off once they are snugged to prevent shifting and torque properly.
  6. The first line in that article shows the writer bias and ignorance.....
  7. read the primary coil winding for proper impedance.....
  8. being bright yellow...hopefully I will know when the drawer is out and not run into it.....NAH....bit of klutz in me, probably end up breaking my fool neck......lol
  9. Los came in with a winner....I checked my paint stash....fresh unopened quart of yellow.....done and done...!! On my alignment lift my ramps are not an easy off and on like my other lift....so I made stow bars that when lift is up I can raise the runway and place this spacer between the ramp and the bottom of the runway itself....they nigh onto parallel now.....they painted bright red....a note will be on the release lever to check position of stowage ramp when lowering. now to play musical cars now that the rain has subsided a bit....
  10. blue and yellow has always been a favorite two tone for me....this is a set of 8 foot brakes I built some time back....they fall right into your wheelhouse of colors....Sail Blue and Sunshine Yellow all my shop fixtures are painted with catalyzed enamel. The cabinets.....not catalyzed however....
  11. Tried to get a quart of paint while out and about shopping at Lowes....I think I have more paint in stock than them...just not the right color....if I recall the local ACE had this color.....will have to see if they still got stock on shelf.
  12. anyone?........Bueller....? While I did build and install the cabinets about this time last year.....I got to the task of installing my roll out work surfaces for a comfortable height while seated. I don't take claim at being a carpenter....just claim to get things done.....eventually....!
  13. I was just reflecting on the title of this thread a bit...that song in the title was mentioned in passing in Golden Earrings song Radar Love....."and the radio played that forgotten song'
  14. if no one else notices or says thanks...your posting pages and tech info from the period correct book for the early Chrysler is greatly appreciated....and all this from Denmark folks....good to have you on the forum.
  15. hey its a two door...what's not to like.....congrats...enjoy....the funs has just begun
  16. I assume you have determined the problem was loss of ether....likely removing the bulb is not going to go very easy.....they create such a sealed bond with rust....they usually break tube entry at bulb....but you may loose a bit of coolant so drain the block a bit first as the rad fill line is a bit above the level of the engine...
  17. Industry these days must take step to protect themselves from idiots who use the product and in the same token protect these same idiots from themselves.....the culprit here is U....the first letter in user...(no direct intent to any person alive or dead, generalizing only) I suggest kicking the yard sales and such for good working models of the older style to keep on hand. I just had one of mine go tits up for 12 volts but the 6 volt function is still fantastic....I will BOLO with the upcoming swap meets and such. I am not a fan of the modern ones in any fashion.
  18. another giant leap forward in technology that binds you hand and foot....basically they saying you do not know what you need and how to use...they know what you need and THIS IS HOW YOU WILL USE IT...they saying to your face that you are too stupid to hook up a battery correctly and for that matter, you may be trying to charge instead the battery hold down strap...
  19. Bonneville I do not really consider racing...it is a speed trial...completely different scenario..
  20. as it a mechanical device (bourdon tube) have you checked your bulb and line for integrity.....often the very leak in these are at the bulb where it is affixed to the head. As it is a recent failure....there is a possibility you may be able to detect the smell of ether about the gland nut and tube on the head....use of a tube or hose may assist you....remember this is ether....
  21. if you do not know what you and welder can do....you may wish to back away from the job......
  22. kill two birds one stone....weld a stem onto in...square drive or hex.....then wrench it out as the heat from the welding will also pretty much kill any rust bond between the threads.....else....drill away...be sure to pull your hog head to clean the shaving from the banjo if go with the drill....
  23. and the pimple faced kid next door blows you away with his 50cc moped....
  24. let say we had to stick with basic stock.....is the same as LET's pretend we are racing....
  25. one voice in the wilderness spewing about foul things...for every one person you will find who speaks ill of Optima (besides higher cost) you will find 25 or better speaking highly.....many you tubers are there for self glory...majority are not worth watching...and while this is just my opinion....it has to be every bit as much creditable as his......(sound of rimshot)
