  1. well...sweetener….sugar is out...Stevia is in..!! I just made my second gallon of tea this year....mostly I drink water, coffee or with my meals, milk. I am a transplant to this part of the country where tea stained sugar water is most popular...
  2. check the tension on the fan belt as when revved it seems to be cooling per your report....
  3. I have been to England....many of times.....I drank coffee......tea is supposed to have ice in it......?
  4. looked like it was spiraling in a nose dive....I see you have one original bullseye headlight...hard to see if the right one is a bullseye
  5. this is where the lathe reigns king....else, you in for a slow PITA job.....
  6. go have a coffee, I will even let you buy it...….☕ glad you now going forward....
  7. now you tell me.....I have collected a few flaring tools over the years.....still have my original from the 70's..was given a couple sets by folks retiring and moving out of the area to gated communities with no such antics of car repair going on...
  8. go ahead, this area is used to being full of water....
  9. do an online download of the book...it will be digital form, think I saw it offered for 14.95 and you have it NOW.....I feel your pain but I got an order in from England 4 days ahead of an order from Florida and I share a border with that state.....go figure......nothing is sacred, nothing is predictable except longer delays and higher prices...
  10. they do the same in UK..US pricing item and shipping....but shipping from UK to here on a book like that averages 25-28 US dollars....some things are not a good deal at all....shipping is out of control these days....
  11. picked up on that engine did ya...more ponies, all synchromesh 5 speed...3.9 axle compared to stock 4.55....and it is a RHD van body to boot.....you will want the later book as Plymouth got the larger engine a couple years after that book....as Dodge moved up in CID Plymouth basically got the cast aside which was an upgrade for it.......the below is from the UK e-bay...you will be getting from US.....does not look like bad prices.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=1946-54Plymouth+service+manual&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=Plymouth+service+manual
  12. heck I got a few of them here in Georgia.....working my Morris LCV now.....just installed the mirror with courtesy/map lights to replace the cheesy unit in there...repops are not the best I understand for this and the originals just do not survive....also the GPS antennae is part of the fabricated mirror mount that utilizes stock holes for mounting.... per local genealogy that my ancestors came to America from Wales.....
  13. we have some GB members who may well be able to assist you with the loan of a book or at least a chance to copy/photograph the pages......Wales, I wish to visit there one day if the world should ever get back to any semblance of normal...
  14. a testament to just how tough these old engine truly are......
  15. these limits are defined in the factory shop manual and also Motors gives some great data on the older cars and one of these books are not that hard to find either. Someone may list these for you but that will be a lot of typing unless they scan it and paste here... I am not sure if this does not already exist as reference data under the resources or technical pages in the blue banner top of forum. Local libraries also have some of the older Motors books on file and you can maybe transcribe there.
  16. I had posted this earlier but by mistake put it in your older thread.....I just copied to here...... the electromagnetic style in your car depends on good clean grounds at the tank and at the gauge and also good clean tight connection on the wire from the gage to the sender and also that this wire not be chaffed and thus grounding out. Further it relies on good clean positive contact on the resistor wiper. The gauge has two circuits of which one is constantly pulled toward empty while the tank unit pull it toward full, the clean smooth swipe across the resistor is key to this constant pull circuit altered by the changing value of the resistor determinate by the wiper position. Any dirt, light contact etc could cause for the loss of this circuit and make the constant ground circuit dominant. To some degree without baffles you will see some slosh but it should not be a flickering of the needle....but a slow change albeit noticeable when say climbing a steep grade. My suggestion follow that of the book to clean all connection very well...you can made the resistor test from the book also to prove the wiper....star washers are key here..

  18. I was wrong...ricer car was not repossessed....had a blown engine and the clown is still driving it like before and will end up blowing this one also...but rainbow in the mix...they moving this week I was told....I'd almost help them pack to leave....note the almost...he works out of town anyway and only heard it on weekends...but it was an annoying sound....like someone squeezing about 10 cicadas at the same time....speaking of cicadas, lot of Appalachia will have a bumper crop singing in the hardwoods this season….
  19. most gear rotor pumps are self priming...some place Vaseline in the rotor chamber for positive suction on the strainer pipe...others just fill with oil when assembling and turn the gear by hand to WET the assembly inside..
  20. one can easily pull the spark plugs to remove compression and make the engine a bit easier to turn by hand....clearances are stated in the book for hot and cold setting....and depending on if the car makes extended runs you can increase the clearance couple thousandths.... Final setting can be based on this and the old adage I would rather hear them than burn them....in the standard I/E format....10/10 when hot.....10/13 cold 12/12 for extended run vehicles.
  21. I left the "S" off the actual NAGS is National Auto Glass Specifications....my error....apologize for that.....I was told by my retailer for the kit I placed in the 48 BZ CP that the glass would be machine cut per NAGS data and then fired/tempered for all the glass except the windshield which is still safety glass....
  22. I think you confusing the flange dimensions into the mix...Speedi-sleeve dimensions can be found on the internet for looking and will give you tons of relative information on how to chose and install.....
  23. for we the aging but not really old...hold to your ground and hopefully with disciplined reserve get your gained respect... for the younger set, one day you will be in our shoes.....given you are allowed to live or survive the stupidity of above actions......
  24. me thinks you got bad info or looking at the wrong sleeve....
  25. unfortunately stooping to their level is not the answer...it only creates a dislike and cause for retribution....however with the law taking charge of the situation...they can try retribution by they quick to find that is not a good choice......often if is lack of parental guidance in early life that leads to this BUT not always, the effect of alcohol and wacky weed does often play a part and embarrasses their family to no end.
