  1. you do not need longer...you need to pay attention and place it correctly....hard lesson to learn as the going back is always a PITA ..take you time......as you can see after the first attempt the car is still there....
  2. the Morris has a very good following in ownership, clubs across many countries and continents....they make almost all parts and panels...they are dirt cheap...this is arguably one of the better durable cars out there for your time, money, driving fun, ease of upgrades and return on your money after the fact. I think you would have fun with this puppy...they a lot of car for for the smaller size they are. .
  3. as the goat said.....naaaah…!
  4. only way he was going to get to 70 was if he went sideways with the jeep and the load took command of the situation....or there is a pretty steep hill not shown in the pic
  5. with all due respect...where is the DOT safety patrol when you need them.....? wow...! hope that is not one of our people....
  6. I called your wife and told her to put some fresh oil near the thermostat cover tomorrow....?
  7. neil and ethan.. in answer to our question, the little car I am working now is Brit made and has the 6.25 gallon tank as stock. It is a 1968 Morris Minor 6cwt van. The home aftermarket has taken this to a whopping 9.5 replacement tank. My friend ordered one of these years ago and they refused to ship it to the US as the paperwork was quite an involvement. I last night ordered a tank that is 15 gallon and hopefully will not be much to mod and install.
  8. I just ordered a 15 gallon compact rectangular tank that will go in and will have room 360 about it...85.00 new and delivered with EFI outlet and return, vent and fill tubes plus comes with new lock ring and seal....just hard to go wrong....will beat that factory 6.25 gallon tank they come with...my lawnmower tank is almost that large... beating the bushes for a tank is time consuming but as you on the computer your butt gets a rest and your mind and fingers do the dance.
  9. I'll have my voices contact your voices.....!
  10. tell me I do not get time out as did Andy.....!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like Marc woosed out and fell asleep.....
  11. kickdown governor pinion
  12. the thing with Andy is....he is already down under......
  13. there is a difference in vender bashing and telling the truth.....in the field of rubber products I have come to find that certain items are better from one than say another and I mixed and matched rubber from three different suppliers on my bz cp. Durometer of the rubber is as if not more important than fit sometimes....some companies just have their rubber in X areas a way bit too hard and squish/cushion is not in play and the fit/service suffers. Some items are flat out off the wall in price and some are just poorly made no matter the price. What one may consider good fit for their purposes may not be as expected to the next builder. As we all know many say close enough and accept the poor fit as received normal. We have some of that going on now with another mod, another forum, and while x companies supply x product from same raw material supplier...their detail in the fit is often wide spread and as such difference in sharp clean install verse slop and shoddy eyesore. The single most problem when encountering a poor fit is the company shaking their head saying they are not at fault and the catch all...no one else complains....however these companies usually do not have online feedback for some reason.....? Then there are those that flat out lie even before the placing of the order that their product is true to original in all aspects and you receive generic junk that is not ever close. They will not stand behind the product after the sale but in often telling this truth you get accused of bashing....so where is the safety net and middle ground?
  14. I get fine dust here from ag fields....with the rising cost of fuels however the turning of soil of late is about 50% less with first crop being wheat and when harvested it is cut without turning and the next crop planted between the wheat rows....decaying wheat provides nutrients I suspect also....lowers cost and proving effective. Years ago when I first moved here the wheat field was usually burnt before next crop....that practice generate mucho smoke and has been abandoned.
  15. you are not alone in this world adding that single vowel to truly describe the vehicle in question....and in truth the owner could well be described if you used the vowel "A" now before anyone here goes up in arms because there is a small chance this shoe fits.....remember.....
  16. but I collect a few clocks and I run them....so what was he really trying to say here???????
  17. and now we are at the other extreme and as is most always the case....the middle ground is rarely sought and appreciated....some things are necessary replacement as there is no way it can last forever...rubber is just one of these items....the search for NOS rubber parts would be for a car that is nothing but for show given it does not break chip disintegrate on install...I call middle ground replacement parts even if repopped as long as they are true to form fit and function without a flagrant slap in your face as radically different is these aspects....normal upkeep as the car should represent not only what came off the showroom but expected to some degree of use by the owner...this hobby has so many facets and ideas as to what is or is not common and proper upkeep. It is not that hard to tell the difference and whether or not a person is trying to hide an obvious change in fit form and function. Personally I do not like the trailer queens except to the point that the AACA displays them as some of the most correct renditions....key word, MOST....I have seen some very nice cars but granted they are often only at the AACA events. The biggest gripe and one that has not been brought up here for a long time is the trailer queen rolled off the trailer and entered into a class with the folks actually driving their cars on the street. Why I never really go to many shows that are for judging and such...give me the cruise in where not only do they often burn rubber leaving...but you can smell the burnt oil in the air also.....real cars real people real fun.
  18. would that be a bit of volcanic ash by chance...how long does it stay air borne and to what degree is it being spewed in the air daily in the NW US. they say it is daily in the hundreds of pounds....and of course...how much drift in from Hawaii....major pollution state that needs super heavy fines levied upon it.....Make mine share of that fine 2 pineapples a week..
  19. I knew the southwest had some large blocks....most call them a mesa....
  20. that is a shame...I always like the style of the Ghia...last time I was at the track these little babies were eating the big blocks like Tic-Tacs
  21. gotta love the one known as a SCAM...probably took a gold star in truth in advertising....
  22. and on the hoping no one sees the difference many are wishful and hopeful. An AACA event is very strict I know...I have viewed their cars and they are head and shoulders above anything I ever saw at a POC event. I am not knocking the POC folks but in reality they are not true to their own creed per my finding at that event. They also seem to be lessening their criteria and parts alone may be a great player in that. Disappointed yes, surprised, no....understood, you betcha...do I participate...never again....but I feel I have missed nothing. So when I state some items are over priced it is based on what one CAN DO not on what one CAN BUY....some folks just got PA money and will do just that with it. It is nothing but a bit of money when you buy and bolt....very little build going on and usually many do not understand the operation of the item replaced....they win at the shows...they lose in the total purpose of the hobby.
  23. I still think it funny I bought top brand name Japanese labeled product for their home industry....plug wires for a Datsun....on the tag in small but clear letters...made in Mexico from Japanese supplied material so....we not alone it seems....the more your home technology increases...the more the bottom line product is outsourced
  24. in my mind's eye be a tough fit without major refit of the fill tube based on location of the 51/52 model year compared 53/54....and also if this is a car and not a truck...I can supply number and details pictures of needed tweaks for the Suburban 51/52...in and out for less than a C note...GIVEN you are adept at weld and fabrication of a sender...but then my sender was adapted for a fuel return line EFI setup...but without that...even easier....
  25. and I was in turn poking back at you.....I knew all about your older truck from prior conversations with you.....lol Got a mind like a steel trap...……………...rusted shut
