  1. Usually you have to get very aggressive to prepare the frame for new glass . Break the old glass with a hammer , use a propane torch to remove the old seal . . The four little machine screws that hold the two sides of the frame together can get very stuck too . They thread into a small bar . If I remember correctly the thread size is 10-32 .
  2. Sorry , If I would have gone back to the beginning of your thread , i would have clearly seen that you were talking about a Fargo .
  3. The first photo is Dodge and the second photo is Plymouth .
  4. Differences between the 1941 Plymouth and 1941 Dodge pickups ; The front grills are different , sometimes there were scripts on the tailgates , engines were the same , the Plymouth 3 speed trans was syncro in 2 nd & 3 rd and the 3 speed Dodge was not .
  5. Can you call the seller and ask him to look underneath to see if the backing plates are there ?
  6. The cover that goes over the grill to restrict air flow is called a ' Winter Front ' . One member who made a winter trip to Alaska had one on his car .
  7. I just looked in my parts book and there is no diagram for the cowl lights . Those spring clips that hold the lens in place have a high nub in the center , that nub goes against the inside lip of the bezel . The two long arms of the spring clip go against the glass lens . They don't look like they would work , but they do . The V bracket catches the edges of the bezel and there is a long screw that goes in the rear of the light to pull it all tight . You 1947 Dodge truck would have come with cowl lights , can you examine one of those ?
  8. I found this one on ebay , it is about an inch thick .
  9. Since your engine has been rebuilt , at least once , your head might also has been previously milled . That means that you need to be careful about not removing too much material when you have the head milled .
  10. That hole gets plugged up with carbon . Since you have the head off , call a local machine shop and ask what the charge would be to mill the head flat .
  11. There are a lot of them on ebay starting at $8.50 . Search drag link tool .
  12. I now have eleven more of these listed on ebay , item number 235249171775
  13. I haven't put in a kit before but I can tell you that when you do the adjustment , remove all of the slop or you will have sloppy steering . The tool shown is for the job and fits on a 1/2 inch ratchet or breaker bar . You might get by with making your own tool with a piece of flat steel .
  14. The three have all been sold , I hope to have more available in a few of days .
  15. I am selling these on ebay , see items number 335055613871 and 3350620316 . Im tried using the tapered ferrule on the Robertshaw fitting and it wouldn't seal for me as it seemed to run out of threads on the nut portion . I am using the common brass ferrules from the hardware store and the rethreaded nut portion of the Robertshaw fittings . I am satisfied with the rethreading method . My fittings seal well . I only have three for sale right now but I have ordered more parts for the future .
  16. There is a data plate on the side of the distributor , it will have the model number . They often start with three letters , such as IGS- I see that your new plate is IGS-3004 . Let us know what number you find and we can probably tell you what fits .
  17. Oil pressure relief valve ?
  18. I had two old coils sitting on the garage shelf for years . They both started leaking oil so I threw them out .
  19. Also , when drilling and you don't want stuff falling into the hole , put grease on your drill bit to catch most of the debris .
  20. # 1 yes . When your truck was new it was positive ground .
  21. Before you try to take your fitting off from the tube and chance ruining it , try to reuse it . Here is one that I have reused many times when testing oil gauges .
  22. Lloyd , You called that tube 3/16 " , It is a 1/8 ' tube . That fitting has been discussed here many times and you might be able to find those discussions by doing a search on the topic . If the fitting and stub of a tube that you have doesn't leak , why don't you use it and a 1/8 ' compression union to get to a common 1/8 " break line . Then you can put in the common rubber hose for flex , with flare fittings that mopar uses .
  23. A hardware store ? They usually have an assortment .
  24. I don't see any slots in the bezel photo .
  25. Also , there is a welsh plug in the head directly over the gland bulb . If you remove the welsh plug it might help to remove the bulb without breakage .
