  1. You guys make have missed your calling as Im sure heart surgery might be easier. When I found a dash clock that fit Booger I replaced the motor with a quartz movement
  2. Holy Prestone, Batman. I was always under the assumption that coolant or water was the result of a blown headgasket. You got some work on your hands.
  3. That doesnt sound bad!
  4. Just replaced oil pan gasket, rear main seal and tran shaft seal. Yaaa! No wait! Fuel and oil pumps still drip, reading related link to oil pump alien gasket has me freaked out. (sigh)
  5. If your garage floors are spotless you rock. Mine arent and never have been.
  6. Yellow T tape AND pipe goo on fuel or oil related. Thats my take.
  7. I thought..how simple can it be? Its just a 3/8 ratchet drive! But its not. Find a Kens tool 'dogbone' multi tool. Its got 8 different sq and hex sizes.
  8. Thats a really good question. A few factors and you can chart up with your tire size and gear ratio and mph. But your ears know when when your pushing it. 3600 is max. 2800-3000 should be your sweet spot. Buy a Westach for 140.
  9. the baffle thing had me baffled. But a clean pan is a happy motor (Ive never seen it before)
  10. Ive been up down all around with the axle swap thing For me makes more sense to have something made new for the same price of a junkyard axle swap. (what are you getting? its in a junkyard ) Those of you that can bolt up a cherokee rear axle , fine. You guys with the nice garages and shops . great. I hate you
  11. Dude what a journey! Thanks for taking us along for the ride..my fingernails got greasy just reading all this. Keep up the great work
  12. Choke cable under hood
  13. this is a B&B on a 218 A D6 (?)
  14. God I love that car.
  15. Under dash to the right of steering column was my best fit. Make sure your bends have nice sweeping radius as to not kink. Secure cable to firewall loosely. Dont screw up your dashboard
  16. this has been a good topic. 10/30 has alway been my drink of choice. But now (thanks to this discussion) Im rethinkinking oil choice. Booger doesnt play in the snow..-10 F (no) and freeway speed often surpass 3000K rpmz. (yes). So 40 weight (which was a standard way back when) seems to be a logical choice. Is a 20w-50 oil too tricked out for flatties? Flatties not fattys. ( your honor I am guilty as charged)
  17. wow straight bolt up? Have not seen that. me like
  18. He shoots....He scores!
  19. Hemmings was once my Sears Xmas catalog. Now its become the trade paper of the elitest concours auctioneers. I dunno. 35K for a VW bus? renew presciption or bird cage liner? Very little Mopar content. #bummed
  20. All good repllies. Non detergent 30 W was the drink of choice 50 yrs ago. Modern multis detergents are the smart choice. I recently dropped the pan on Booger to extract what goo was in there (very little) now the oil is so freekin clean I can barely see it on the dipstick. Thats a nice looking power plant, Frito
  21. Feliz Ano Nuevo
  22. My guess is theres something floating around in that carb o a jet clogged. Time for a rebuild kit for carb and proper settings. Thats all worthless unless you put an line gas filter
