  1. OK well if its good enough for a 4 barrel Holley it should be sufficent for a 1 barrel B&B.I should think sucking tons of air the 25% filter restriction is a HVAC standard. That 140 cfm is equivilant to a 7" rd low pressure air duct in your home your numbers make perfect sense
  2. I think Ive found my air cleaner. And yes its Edelbrook 10" round chrome goody at your parts store or Amazon for around $30. it clears the heating duct. the stock application has a 5 3/4 rnd bottom hole for a Holley 4 barrell. My plan is to cap the bottom and cut in a 2 5/16 collar to fit Carter B&B 1 barrel about 2-3" high. use a round worm clamp to attatch to carb. A 10" round paper filter has 3 times the area of a 6 " so theres the 3 Sq ft of media. (dont forget to factor 25% air restriction from filter media. This should do the job and look good. Pictures to follow!
  3. use some pipe thread compound on fittings. gas type teflon tape wont hurt either
  4. I gotta say it was fun and all (sorry I missed you Ed) last year. but damn near burned up a clutch crawling in there! LOL.
  5. all you industrious people I tip my hat to you. Where the nice shiney Edelbrock AF?
  6. Dude you are so killing it. What a journey! Thanks for the inspiration
  7. Yes I like it. you are a bit of a metal whiz, aren't you? What about a cookie or nut tin? put a collar in the bottom to the carb, and cut out some diamond shapes around the walls of the of the sides? Youll get a lot more filtered free area. (sorry no power point) I am sketching it in my mind
  8. God bless the oil bath air cleaner..Oh dont spill it! Ive got the 4" chrome on the Carter B&B but its doesnt have enough surface area, (come on). Whoes got a after market nice looking 8 or 10 " air cleaner that looks good and does the job? I mean I can fab one.... Please forgive if this is old post stuff
  9. thats nice, certainly worh saving
  10. dont overlook most simpliest of things. Condensors have bit me in the ass before
  11. A good B&B (original equipment) not the holy grail of carbs, but decades of good service. things do wear out (dont I know) but a klutz like me can rebuild one (3 tries) I think any one can. If its an upgrade go for it!
  12. as for windshield rubber Steele was twice the price as AB for Booger. The lap belts I installed I discovered a curved like rear seat footrest under front bench seat I anchored lap belts using extra large washers and not floor pan. If those rip out I figger Im toast anyway. Wife likes the extra security of the lap belt thinking she could fly out out door on a sharp corner. Hmmmm
  13. !st thing I thought of, Sniper...big 48 Windsor..gotta be an auto. If indeed its a 3sp manual those leaks you can track down and fix correctly. I would only use an addtive ass a last resort. Like using black pepper in a radiator for stop leak
  14. yes you were right I miss read late reg is $80.
  15. I would say Booger gets 15-16 mpg. 218ci
  16. I paid $80 for my 54 Plaza wagon
  17. BTT50s car show ...$80??? I dont think so
  18. dude your doing a kick butt job. thanks for taking us along
  19. Im looking to replace front glass on Booger this year. Steele wants $218 ea for rubber. OUCH!
  20. sill plates look great, Mr Cheapo wasnt ready to depart with $500 so he made his own using black commercial cove moulding. flipped them over used 'hug' to the door side
  21. Wow look at those door panels. We could have a picnic on those! Dashboard looks great! Whats the plan with the surface rust on the floor pan?
  22. I have never put corn gas in Booger I may have to rethink that come driving season. I suppose as long as your moving that fuel through the system every week or so things should be fine. Im sure Europe would be thrilled to pay $4 gal I would imagine they are paying around 1.50€ a litre if not more
  23. Dude. Im impressed. Thats a skill set few people possess. I collect clocks but only get into elementary function and repair.
  24. You guys make have missed your calling as Im sure heart surgery might be easier. When I found a dash clock that fit Booger I replaced the motor with a quartz movement
