Further to my earlier thread

Apologies to all you great guys on this Forum, for sharing this mess with you, but since it was via this website that I was contacted about the radio, it seems the right thing to do.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE NOW RECEIVED A FULL REFUND FROM RODGER AND I HAVE THEREFORE EDITED THIS POST.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

This is very sad Robin, I work in a prison as a Correctional Officer, fact is a lot of cons exist out there and have no conscience when ripping off there fellow man. Obviously we did not expect this to happen here, as were a pretty tight knit group.

I am glad you are going on a holiday, put this out of your mind, renting space in your head to people that do these types of dirty deeds are not worth it.

Enjoy your holiday, I hope someone on here can help you get a radio, even if it means you have to have it refurbshed to work properly.....All the Best Fred

Robin, I don't know if you happened to read the comment I put on your original post. I am sorry you were taken the same way I was. I hate to see this happen again. If you remember several years ago there was an ongoing thread about Rodger not paying for the shipping of a tranny that I sent him. It went on far too long and I ended communication with him. I was tired of being involved in a losing situation. Needless to say he neither donated the money to GTK or paid me. I hope it will work out in your favor, but I have my doubts. Have a nice vacation. Richie.

Being charged w/ a federal crime will also likely cause Mr. Reddish to become indefinitely suspended from his government job. How hard is it to go to the post office and send a letter? I can almost guarantee that if he was expecting a package coming via USPS that he would be at the post office the next day slip in hand wanting to take delivery.

Crying about having had a stroke over three years ago, and having a job that keeps him away from home four days/week hardly justifies not taking care of business promptly. He still has at least one complete day/week free to take care of other business. Some of us should be so lucky. Most of us have to find a few hours either before or after work to take care of other business. Rodger has at least one whole day every week.

This should have been taken care of weeks ago. Rodger has no excuse, esp. since he promised us on this forum that the checque was on the way. By his own admission, he still continues to hold on to Robin's money and justifies it by saying that he had a stroke once upon a time, works four days/week out of town, had to open the radio's shipping box to take some requested photos, on and on. Welcome to the real world.

Those of us that actually work at jobs in the private sector deal with customer service and customer satisfaction on a daily basis because we want our customers to be happy to continue to do business with us. I have had customers make up complaints to receive new product when they were nearing the end of shelf life.

What do I do as an agent of my company? I write an apology to the customer about their alleged quality defect, and credit them more product. It is the cost of doing business. It is the decision of those higher up than me if we wish to continue doing business with a certain customer due to unfounded complaints from a few of their franchisees. Franchise businesses also have a reputation to uphold and if one of their franchisees makes a practice of making bogus complaints they are probably also receiving complaints from the consumer. All of this is taken into account when franchise renewal is considered.

Rodger has several lame excuses that may account for a delay of days or even a couple of weeks, but definitely not months. He's not being asked to ship a heavy radio across the ocean. All he is being asked to do is return US$275. It all fits in a standard envelope and mail travels across the ocean on a regular basis. The US and the UK have a good relationship and no one is blasting planes out of the sky to interrupt commerce or communication. Robin should have gotten his money a long time ago. IMHO, Rodger has no intention of giving Robin his money back or reimbursing Richie his costs of shipping a transmission.

I just got back home and I see that you have been itching.

Why send a pompous, arrogant note like that if not to just piss you off? There is no excuse for that email, none. Seems Roger isn't what he wants the rest of the forum to beleive.

But that leaves the rest of the forum of good guys.

Roger, keeping the money is simple dishonesty and no dancing around spouting excuses will fly here anymore.

Send the money today, if not, you prove you're a crook.

Robin,

I am very sorry to hear about this. It’s fortunate that the popularity of this site has brought together so many good people. If it weren’t for this forum you & I would have never hooked up in London and I am sure you could add other names to that list.

Unfortunately though, if you look at the statistics there are currently 1,672 members of this forum at the writing of this reply. If for argument sake we say that 0.1% are unscrupulous degenerates. That means that you could at least have 1.67 or 2 forum members out there today just waiting to scam you and happy to do it.

This is a great & friendly place just like London or New York City.., No I am not being sarcastic. The majority always suffer for that 0.1% that cause the trouble. The really sad thing is that you can’t escape it no matter where you go..

The good news is.., there are most likely 1,670 members that would go out of their way to help you.

Sorry, Chet…

Sorry that this has turned out this way. All may not be lost though. You might try the following when you return from vacation, if the money has not been returned to you by then.

US Law:

It's a federal offense to use the telephone, mail, or any other electronic devise (including email) to commit fraud. So........not sure how it would work with you being in England, but.............he's in the US and therefore is subject to US Laws. With that in mind, I would contact the US FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and report the matter to them. I would also contact the US Federal District Attorney's office in the sellers city or state, and report it to them too. I'm sure US law would also include a fraud between him and you even in England since he is located in the US. Really doesn't matter if you're a US citizen in this case or not. Of course, they may ask for all correspondence and maybe a copy of your canceled check made out to the seller.

Maybe you won't get your money back, but.........he may not be a free man for long either.[/quote']

I wish it worked like that..I can assure you it does not...do they actually deliver mail in your world...the PO will not even get involved even IF you use a US Postal money order....TRUST...just a name on a bank...20.00 dollars and a name dropped at the voodoo high priestest house on Wadamalaw Island will be money well spent...lol

Tim you are right, the Law, usually has bigger fish to fry, unless the perp, has a lot of rip-offs going on, and that he may have been under investigation. I really don't think this is the case in this case. Just some, Moron, who is notconcerned about anyone but himself, otherwise this would not have happened in the first place.

The positive, is we know who it is, we know who we are dealing with, and hopefully nobody else on this forum gets scammed by Mr R. again.

At least (sorry at Robin and Ritchie's expense), the word is out that this guy is a bona-fide deadbeat then. The "itching" comment goes way over the line, and leaves little room for anyone to make any justification for this guy's (in)actions. I would guess his next move will be to assume a different screen name, and get on to the next poor person he decides to keep the money, and/or the goods on. It is a shame for him, as there were actually people that seemed ready and willing to, (if not come right out to defend him), certainly give him the benefit of the doubt until he could prove good, and even a person or two that reported having in fact having had a good deal with him.

Hi Guys,

Thank you for all your messages of support.

I know that this Forum is still my favorite place on the web and I'm certainly not going to let this episode change that.

Anyone live near him that can go and pick it up for Robin? If I was closer it would be my pleasure to get it for him.;)

I second that opinion.... , and considering what I read in the last thread, I've edited this post, and I'll wait and see if and when Robin and Richie get their money.... I'll give benefit of the doubt considering certain circumstances.... however, it is also my opinion that that shouldn't be an excuse.....

This probably won't work, but when I had a problem with mattel on an item I couldn't even get them to reply to me. I asked everybody in my email list to cut and paste a simple message, "Where's Jim Graham's money?"

They didn't reply by email they tracked down my phone number and asked what could they do to satisfy me. I told them simple send me the rebate that was promised.

They sent double.

Not all would send an email but I wouldn't have a problem sending Roger and Gabby a simple reminder.

in my experience, the judicious application of a feral kitten to the inside front of R's jockeys may just do the trick. a generous application of jack mackerel juice would be efficacious.

All right, I'll admit it.. It wasn't me.

Is there usually a time lag with international mail? Is 6 days unreasonably long for delivery from U.S. to G.B? Just asking, I'm curious.

Norm, I sold a set of Chrysler rocker mouldings to someone in New Zealand a few years back and it took close to a month to get there but being the package was a large pvc pipe with capped ends would make you think that because of it's size and the way it had to be shipped was the reason for the time frame.

Robin, I personally think Roger has shown his intension's and has had plenty of time to correct the problem. I would pursue the district attorney approach as soon as I got back from vacation. This was the only route I could find on a sour deal I had when the fellow pulled his money out of paypal's account. Needless to say I didnt pursue it because it was just over a 100 bucks and figured it would be put on the back burner if anything. I now wish I had followed through.

I did do some of my own investigating and found the guys website as well as his girlfriends and left some nice reading on both of those for them to enjoy. I also know here he lives and will make sure and pay him a visit if I ever make it to Acme Pa. ;)

As the old saying goes, I dont get mad, I get even. Tryng to get past that, the idea of bulk mail sounds like a great idea and would be happy to help bring down another arrogant crook.

Yes, it is good that we all now know about this guy.

Some day he might try to turn over the 'wrong' person. There are plenty of car guys out there who fix all their problems with the use of a wrench.

Maybe I should recommend him to the HAMB and tell him there are lots of people on there who need parts. ;)

I know a few guys that would "take care of the problem" for you, Robin. When I was a tool distributor I had guys who would be your best friend when they needed something but had every excuse in the book why they didn't have money for you this week, if you could find them. I got out about 5 months ago and I still have money out there owed. There are weasels everywhere and when you find them you need to identify them. Hopefully no one else will be taken by this one. I have to say that Rogers excuses are getting old quick. EASY..paypal the money or send it and attached a tracking number. It is just ridiculous.. Roger offered the wrong part for sale, the buyer does not need that....and now He wants his money back. is simple, GIVE THE MONEY BACK! there is no excuse why you have to keep it. It's not yours. Plain and simple. no need to think...

I've learn that those who don't have any common sense make excuses and accuse all others of every nonsense possible.... I assume that Roger does not have any sense left. can He be Banned?????? Can we have a deadbeat do not deal with this guy sticky????? I would hate to have someone else deal with him 9or anyone else) and get ripped off.

Norm;

Six days is not unreasonable for "across the pond" mail. However in this case Robin was simply asking via instant e-mail if the check had been sent. Robins question could have been answered with a yes or no. The way it was answered indicates a problem. Interesting that the guy could be so humble one day and admit his errors and be so bull headed the next day. He has a problem. It will not surprise me if he comes here again with his "Hola" crap in a few months as if all is well.

Anyone ever spotted him on another forum?

If you have his exact address there are all sorta fun things you can do. Buy some porn mags in his name but have it accidentally go to his next door neighbors house! Lots of fun little things just to screw with him

Well, you might as well inform the folks on those forums about his lack of character.

Something like HOLA guys, please let me inform you of difficulties encounterd whent dealing with this participant. Your list of so far unrefuted facts included.

As for Roger, man up and take care of your responsibilities.
