I had seen one when I removed my Passengers side front Kick Panel. It was stuffed into the cavity. Also up along the back seats tops in the trunk area stuffed into the cavity there as well. It is a roll of either insulation or sound deadening material. Could even be the dreaded asbestos. Handle with care and dispose of if possible.

I left my rolls of whatever they are in place and didn't disturb them.

PS They where in other Chrysler Royals I owned as well, you come across weird stuff working on these old buses.

It looks like some sort of sound-absorbent batten.  Maybe it comes in a big roll, and when it gets near the end, the Briggs Body guy just stashes the remainder in some available hiding spot, rather than disposing of it outside the car.

Salesman's oversize demo product of Early product line Northern Quilted Toilet paper.

Doubles for salesman emergency side of the road use?  ?

But it does appear that it may be made of fiberglass, not a good place for it.  Asbestos even worse.  Remember just prototypes, not for human use!  ?

Photo is in color and reasonably focused so we have to rule out is being a UFO.

What ever you do, do not take it out of the trunk and take a clear shot of it in good light.
When that happens these things morph into a spare pre stage heavy dust air filter.

P.S. It can't be a plumbus, its is cross stitched and has neither a sleeve or cortell.
