Redbeard Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 I thought this was just more junk in the trunk, until i saw another on in a pic of another old dodge. What is its purpose???? Quote
greg g Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 This k you are going to post some better pics, along with something of known size for size relationship. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 looks like a corn cob...we all know what they can be used for, might explain why he does not want to get too close to it for a good picture..... Quote
Tom Skinner Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 I had seen one when I removed my Passengers side front Kick Panel. It was stuffed into the cavity. Also up along the back seats tops in the trunk area stuffed into the cavity there as well. It is a roll of either insulation or sound deadening material. Could even be the dreaded asbestos. Handle with care and dispose of if possible. I left my rolls of whatever they are in place and didn't disturb them. Tom PS They where in other Chrysler Royals I owned as well, you come across weird stuff working on these old buses. Quote
Redbeard Posted April 20, 2023 Author Report Posted April 20, 2023 Another pic of different car but same item Quote
DonaldSmith Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 It looks like some sort of sound-absorbent batten. Maybe it comes in a big roll, and when it gets near the end, the Briggs Body guy just stashes the remainder in some available hiding spot, rather than disposing of it outside the car. Quote
DJ194950 Posted April 20, 2023 Report Posted April 20, 2023 Salesman's oversize demo product of Early product line Northern Quilted Toilet paper. Doubles for salesman emergency side of the road use? ? But it does appear that it may be made of fiberglass, not a good place for it. Asbestos even worse. Remember just prototypes, not for human use! ? DJ Quote
Semmerling Posted April 22, 2023 Report Posted April 22, 2023 (edited) Photo is in color and reasonably focused so we have to rule out is being a UFO. What ever you do, do not take it out of the trunk and take a clear shot of it in good light. When that happens these things morph into a spare pre stage heavy dust air filter. P.S. It can't be a plumbus, its is cross stitched and has neither a sleeve or cortell. Edited April 22, 2023 by Semmerling Quote
