Dan Hiebert
"Godspeed, John Glenn." Quoted by Mission Control at the beginning of every manned American space flight since his first one. Fighter pilot in two wars, test pilot, astronaut, and Senator. One of my heroes. RIP.

Plymouthy Adams
you have to read the thread to get the gist of the statement....the aforementioned wreck on Indy track.....
Don Coatney
I recall watching that Indy 500 race on TV in 1971. Interesting thing was not 15 minutes after the crash the Indianapolis Star newspaper was selling copies in the infield of the track with the bold headline PACE CAR CRASHES (details to follow). Plymouthy Adams
with the details to follow clause...one would think that on race day this may be a reserved special edition awaiting the right circumstances to print...probably more of souvenir for the spectators than a recap of any real news....my only trip to Indy 500 was in 1984...was fun, would I go back..probably not... Don Coatney
I have been to the 500 many times. I don't recall the years but 1984 may have been one of those times.
