Dan what are your travel plans?  We were planning to leave Syr early Thurs AM. 

Nothing definite yet, too far out in my line of work.  Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to leave Thursday, tho.  At best I could leave Friday AM, at worst, Friday PM.

I got this email from our region President today.

 

 Due to the high demand for hotel rooms in Port Huron, Michigan for the upcoming National Summer Meet hosted by the Detroit Region, We have secured additional rooms at the hotel below that is just a few blocks from the Show Hotel. There are only 8 rooms left at the Show Hotel. If you were not able to get a room at the show hotel, we have negotiated a great deal at the Fairfield Inn at the rate of $104.00 per night including breakfast. When you call, request a room in the PLYMOUTH CAR CLUB BLOCK to get the special rate!

Greg, I,m still driving the red Barracuda I bought in 2008. I'll have that at the POC meet. I hope I can still be included in the outlaw group. My P-15 coupe ended up in Minnesota. I'll be bringing some P-15 parts for the swap meet in Port Huron.

This morning we paid a visit to the Wills car museum. Childe Harold Wills was the founder of this automobile. He had worked for Ford and was the guy who designed the blue oval. Interesting museum.

If I recall correctly, Mr. Wills worked for Chrysler after he had worked for Ford. In Carl Breer's book it mentions Harold Wills worked on the the development of sealed beam headlights too.

 

That '33 has, shall we say, an interesting paint job.

Just pulled into the door yard after about 900 trouble free miles. Didn't take many pics and my computer is in the fritz, so maybe other photags will post in a bit. I will do a recap after I stop buzzing and have an adult beverage. Basically a good trip and somefun times.

Glad you made it home safe and sound. It took Lisa and I about an hour and a half at standstill speed to clear American Customs at the Lewiston bridge. I am sure we were ahead of you so I told the Special Customs Agent In Charge that there was a Black 46 Plymouth with a load of Moonshine somewhere behind me. He said he would alert all agents. Hope you made it across the bridge OK.

The cut off we took alerted us to the backup, so we boogied to the rainbow crossing in the Falls. Got there at noon, passed through at 12:15, then headed back north to follow rt 104 east. Stopped at a small car show and grabbed some lunch.

No sign of Revenuers.

I got a room at the host hotel today, they must have had cancelations. Friday they said there were no rooms available at the Plymouth Club rate.

I always enjoy seeing the forum members at the POC meets. Everyone seems to get along so well. We got home about 11:30am but we had a short trip compared to a lot of people.

Any clue as to where next years meet will be taking place?

From what I heard' no region is interested/capable of hosting. As per bylaws that makes it a board responsibility, but nothing in the planning. Lot offolks talking about WPC in July in Springfield, I'll. That is an 800 mile trip from here. Not undoable but would require an extra overnight there and back.

I'm thinking about going to the WPC meet in Springfield next year too.  Anyone have the dates in July yet?
