That may be made by Mother Mopar but something went wrong after conception................they built it. Sorry to say, but to me, that is plain ugly.

I suspect that if an individual "Hotrodder" built that car, and posted the results on most any of the car forums, he (or she) would be inundated with a flood of derogatory comments.  To me, that vehicle rates right up there with the Pontiac Aztek on the ugly scale.  Yeow!

that car is definitely one of the love it or hate it designs..the face only a mother could love...I personally like the 50 Stude most folks don't care for that look..so I see you how you could like that wagon...but do expect to be amoung the few who do..

Gents,

Viewing something like this in retrospect makes it easy to see what might have been.  Lose the elevated roof and what appears to be metal on the door panels then trim the fat from its butt and you might have something to rival the Chevy Nomad.  Instead you have a fugly remnant of the days when the fat cats at the top told you something was attractive and assumed you would believe them.

Such a shame.

I like to go against the grain occasionally. I would say this car is good lookin just because most everybody says not. But in this case I just cannot bring my self to say it is purdy. If we all send our pocket change to youngster Ed perhaps this thing will disappear to some remote location in the Nort woods to never be seen again. I am sending you my 2 cents Ed.

Thanks Don. Looks like I would need 2140 cents from every member to get above the current bid.......

the gauge pod is its only salvation

Think I could live with that. This car and others like it are worth mega bucks, for the likes of Joe Bortz, Jay Leno, and not Surfs like us....

Fess up Ed, you used a calculator didnt you.

Of course I did! I did not however use it to convert $21.40 into pennies.

In school were you required to learn the times tables and memorize them?

Yes. why? I used division to calculate the price per member.

I saw this poor creature in the flesh at the January 2010 RM Auction in Phoenix and it didn't look any better then, especially when sharing space with some very beautiful classics and the like.

According to my notes, the car achieved a high bid of $160,000 — much higher than the current E-bay number — which was refused by the vendor. I wonder if there has been some self butt-kicking going on since?

I doubt it. Someone will come along with the cash and the desire to have a unique car. Thanks for the extra photos I didn't realize the white was a vinyl top.

I hear tell that the multiplication tables are no longer taught in some schools. Not sure how long ago that important bit of education was dropped. When I discuss such things with my grandkids they get mad. They only want to play computer games. Makes me sad.

At some schools it was a long time ago... Back in the '60s the elementary school I went to figured that teaching set theory was more important than the times tables. However my father thought otherwise and drilled us until we had them well memorized.

Don,

I told my 4 grand kids that I would give them $50 if they could pass a 15 problem quiz. So far 3 out of the 4 have taken the challenge and are $50 richer. I told them to call me when they felt ready. I made up a random 15 problem test and gave it to them over the phone. Times table through 12. I, like you, feel it is invaluable. Also teaching them  how to read a measuring tape.
