ggdad1951
Ok guys (and any gals around here) the parts are now available for order! As I said in my other thread I ended up contracting out to Dodge Central to sell the parts for several reasons. The first batch is in, plated and ready to go including the nuts and pins. I have all these parts on my truck and am very happy with how they turned out.If you had wanted a set from me earlier PLEASE go buy these from DC! Merle Coggins
Thanks Mark. I just placed my order, along with some new tail lamps and pedal draft seals. I've been ordering up some other parts lately in preperation for various winter projects. Now I have a couple more to add to the list. ggdad1951
great Merle, let me know what you think when you get them! I hope everyone that said they wanted a set goes and gets one, it's the only reason I laid out all the money up front for these parts! Merle Coggins
I had a notice in my mail box yesterday to pick up a parcel at the post office. So after work today I stopped and got my package from Dodge Central. Then on the way home I swung past my storage unit to pick up my spare tire carrier parts. The hardware looks great, Mark. Now I just have to clean up the other parts and get 'em painted. Then chean and paint a spare rim and mount a spare tire. Once I get that all done I can put the new hardware to good use. Thanks, Merle

How 'bout seeing if they'll reproduce the "steering post pad" for a column shift?
ggdad1951
no real "pull" with them, just that they announced a spare tire parts package right when I was making my sets and things lined up best to have them be the seller of the parts... ggdad1951
Ok guys, where did all of you go that wanted these things made? I contacted the vendor and 6, yes only 6 have sold and that's after he put them on E-pay. I outlayed the money to make these parts because people here said they wanted them. This is the DIRECT reason I'm NOT going to do the passenger side visor mount hardware, which WOULD be possible and cool for many! Needless to say I'm a bit disappointed that at least the gang here hasn't ponied up and did what they said they would.
ggdad1951
just bumping this up again, sadly only 12 sets have sold.....I'm actually pretty sad that all of those that wanted these and said they'd buy a set haven't followed thru...guess I've learned my lesson for trying to repop stuff w/o money up front. BUT the good news is there is a good stock of the parts yet! Go buy!
B1B Keven
Mark, Can you go back through the threads and make a list of those that said they'd take one? Be nice to see the names here. Too bad these people are jeopardizing the sun visor project!!!
52b3b Joe
Mark, Can you go back through the threads and make a list of those that said they'd take one? Be nice to see the names here. Too bad these people are jeopardizing the sun visor project!!! I'm one of those names! I AM going to buy one soon. I am not ready for it yet and I have a tendency to lose stuff I buy in advance and spend a day looking for it. I will be ordering one when my bed is installed. Scruffy49
All my factory bits are intact, down to the spare tire. Not sure it has ever been out of the truck since it left the line... Will be pulling it soon for frame cleaning/painting and swapping in my WWW spare on a freshly painted rim. Will possibly need a set of hardware then, have to see what fails taking the original stuff apart. It's pretty common, we get the same thing on the Sweptline board. I ponied up to have dash plaques designed and then it went nowhere. All the folks who said they could have it cast or wanted one changed their minds. At least it was a very small upfront outlay for me. Now, if they have modern "wiggle buster" conversion shackles for the less than impressive stock style... If not, I'm going to design a set using modern urethane bushings and trailer type shackle plates. Helps to have a 20 years newer 4 corner leaf spring "pattern" 1/2 ton 2wd as the PH's "parking area pal"...

Too bad these people are jeopardizing the sun visor project!!! I'm not gonna toss people under the bus, they know who they are! as for the visor projectI I doubt it will happen due to lack of interest. I know what to do and how to make them, but with the tiny bit of interest it isn't worth the time. I know Dodge Central is looking into doing them...in fact we've already been in contact about it...maybe he can just do it and save Paul and I and the pain of doing anything.... TodFitch
Thanks for bumping this thread. I was unaware of this vendor and it looks like a number of the early truck parts they list also fit on my '33 Plymouth. Got to verify part number references, but I think I might have an order for them.

Charles Furman
I didn't pre-order any, but I just bought a set to help the cause. I may get bigger tires some day.
TodFitch
Tod I've got a 41-47 dodge truck parts book if you need any numbers. The things I noticed would be for Plymouth "Commercial" vehicles (i.e. trucks) in the 1930s for which I have a parts book. But thanks! I might take you up on that if I my own reference material comes up short. Won't have time to look for a couple of days though...
Merle Coggins
I finally finished this project. Over the winter I got my spare tire carrier parts cleaned up and painted. I even got it all mounted up under the truck as part of my "off season" maintenance/repairs. Then this spring I finally went through my spare tire/wheel stash and found a rim with good clips. After cleaning and painting it I mounted a new tire to match what I had mounted on the truck. Then after carrying it around in my daily driver pickup for the last couple of weeks, I finally stopped in at the tire shop next door to where I work and had them balance it. When I got home this evening I mounted it up in there and adjusted everything for a good snug fit. Now I can cruise around with more confidence knowing I have a spare if I get a flat. Thanks again Mark for doing the leg work on the hardware. It is perfect. Merle Edited May 14, 2013 by Merle Coggins
John-T-53
Merle - this spare might come in handy during your cross-country schlep next spring! Looks good. So I've got a p205-75-15 spare, but I'm running p235-75-15 tires. I just realized this when I had to use the spare a couple weeks ago. When installed on the back right, the height difference was noticeable. Would this possibly damage the rear end if driven on too much? I think this would cause the axles to be constantly turning at slightly different speeds, but the spider gears would be working OT.
Merle Coggins
You are correct John. Extended operation with different size tires will cause excelerated wear of your differential gears.
ferdball
Man I'd buy one if I had the bar that goes across the bottom! All's I gots is a couple bent threaded rods...... Must have been something big to rip it all off there...
