I asked the guy "How much"?

"How bout 10 bucks" he says. Stunned, I said nothing for a few seconds and he said "Make it 8"? "Yeah, yeah" I said.

Keep looking, they're out there.

Bought my first 1750 for $5.00 at an garage sale a long time ago. The 2nd one I'm sure I didn't pay more tha $20.00. The prices today.....insane.

You got the deal of a lifetime on the tool. Some people just want to get rid of stuff and then there are other guys that want to rob the people and then there are others that ask a fair price.

When you know the original price of the tool and then add in inflation and then if the tool is har to find then you have to pay the asking price.

You will get your moneys worth out of it on the first brake job. Also look at the tech section on how I did a demo of the tool at the AACA convention in Phila several years back. Do the major adjustment. put the drum and etire rim with tire back onthe car. Then do a minor adjustment with the upper cam then you will have great brakes.

Sunset hill park? right down the road from my house!

Yes, I was there today, but my find was at a steam show in Brookville, Indiana, last Tthursday.

Were you at Sunset Hill today? Did you get any pictures of the Indiana woody wagon?

Greg, I have made those with metal, but they don't accurately measure the drum oversize and let me set the shoes at the same diameter. Not having a drum gauge, I cannot tell how far out to set the shoe gauge.

Besides, the hunt is most of the fun!

Thanks, I think of it as a "rescue tool". I like to think I saved it from rusting away in a barn somewhere. I gotta do some touch-up with gun blue to make it purty.
