I've had some 10 hr shifts where you go to work in the dark, come home in the dark and the building had no windows where I was at. That was truly depressing. Quote
RobertKB Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 Don't know what you guys are whining about. I'm in the dark all the time! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 7, 2011 Author Report Posted November 7, 2011 I am just a few months shy of 37 years and have never had a window...one building I worked in at had windows but hey had long since been painted over..there are days I have no clue if it is windy, rainy, sunny or whatever..and if I do not go anywhere for lunch, I get blinded by the sun when I exit the bldg....I would probably be paranoid that someone would be watching me if I had a window... greg g Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 So you are the product of a government sponsored sensory deprivation program??? That goes a way to explaining some things.. Quote

The grass always looks greener... I'm a farmer a few monthes over 37 and work outside in the wind, rain, sun and worse yet snow and trust me this time of year there are days where I would love to work in a building with no windows:D Quote

Spent years working outside. Come home from a day job and feed cattle in the dark, thaw frozen waterers. No fun. Did it long enough winter looks a lot better from inside looking out. Quote
Frank Elder Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 yeah..government subsidized mushroom...the being kept in the dark and fed BS is no joke.. Mid X, or mids was and still is my favorite shift.......so depression at work or due to short amount of sunlight during the day has never been a problem for me, now if I eat during that time the sand man comes a callin' purty quick! The window when working inside is just an outside distraction for me, I would rather not have one. Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 I actually enjoy it getting light earlier (I hate to get up before the sun) and getting dark earlier. One of my other hobbies is astronomy and as I tell people.. "It's hard to be an astronomer when you can't stay awake past 10 o'clock." Now I can get my telescope out around 6 - 6:30 and still get to bed by ten. That is until it get's too cold outside, then I'll have to shift to tying flies! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 8, 2011 Author Report Posted November 8, 2011 I'm a night owl..only get up as a necessity to get to work on time...fight like hang having to go to bed...seems a waste of time but I know I need to get some sleep..I cruise on average 4-5 hours sleep..maybe a power nap in the middle of the day..it can stay daylight to 10PM and I would probably not complain about paying a tax on that..
