BobT-47P15 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 It certainly is a beautiful car............... Darn, out of play money at the moment. Quote
Flatie46 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 That for sure is a nice car but that's a lot of money. That car would be more of an investment than I would want. If a car turns into an investment then your always thinking about your return. From there the fun is going to leave pretty quick. The constant worry of a scratch or will it be rained on, that aint me. But for 93k, it can be you. Quote
dezeldoc Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Come on Michael, that ought to be pocket change for a man like you!! Quote
Young Ed Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 That car has lawyer written all over it Quote
pflaming Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Or Jay Leno! I bet it would turn more heads at the country club than a Mercedes of the same dollars would! I didn't know Chrylser made a straight eight. The block must be 33" +/- long, wonder what the cu in were and the hp? AND how did it compare to the GM straight 8? Quote

David Strieb Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I'd rather have 5 cars I could drive instead of something like that. Quote
John Reddie Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I absolutely agree with you there David. Although those Town and Country cars are stylish, they would not be my first choice. John R Quote
PatS.... Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 For that amount of money, I could comfortably retire...as long as I didn't live past 72! Quote
greg g Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 well you could always sell the 12 mph BMW, to partially finance the T&C, but the expense of buying the two adjacent parking spaces to keep from getting door dings. That could run up some cost of ownership. But for your commuting needs the T&C would probably be more comfy than the German thingie, withthe exception of cup holders. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted June 19, 2010 Author Report Posted June 19, 2010 Germans make some of the finest machines, ever produced on this earth. hands down, you cant beat a German car. MB, VW, BMW, PORSCHE ARE THE MOST SUPERIOR VEHICLES ON THE PLANET, THE ITALIANS CAN BUILD EM BUT THEY JUST DOWN STAY TOGETHER. Quote
Cpt.Fred Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 i like my plymouth better... no plastic, just plain old fine machinery. and hey, listen to me, i AM german;) knarrenkasten, schnitzel, pumpernickel, achtung! arrrr.... Quote
Fireball Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Rare car, in good condition, but soooooo ugly. Not my cup of tea, woody wagons look nice though. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 If you look at frequency of repair records of any consumers surveys and you will see that no German vehicle compares to the dependibilty of the Asian manufacturers. Overall, the only area where German vehicles are at the top is in cost of ownership. My old Mopars have hauled many krautburners off to the big parking lot in the sky. German vehicles succeed best in stoking the ego of their owners. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I'm going to go out on a limb and say that nothing exceeds the engineering and styling of the 1978 Ford Pinto. Give me my Pinto, my Schlitz, and my polyester slacks and I'm in heaven. Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 . . . and I'm Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. How about Blue Ribbon or Coors Joe, Schlitz.......Hmmmmmmmm I'm talking low class, Fred. Blue Ribbon, OK. But Coors would be a little highbrow for that scenario. Driving in my 78 Pinto, wearing my polyester pants, I would have to be drinking something like Schlitz, Blatz, Haffenreffer, or maybe even a Tango screwdriver in a plastic cup. Any of the fruity liqueurs would be appropriate, too, but they would have to be El Cheapo. And I mustn't forget my tinted aviator glasses and my comb-over. Quote
