of a raging blizzard,,,nobody is going anywhere. Never saw the streets THIS deserted. Unknown amount of snow driven by 50mph winds. Already heard of drifts as high as garage roofs. so guess home is as good as it gets.

Left over chile from last nite sounds about right. Wouldnt even had Christmas dinner if a friend didnt bring over some yesterday and I saved it till today. He braved the snow and ice,,, but yesterday the wind hadnt kicked in yet.

Santa couldnt even Land on the roof last nite as he couldnt gauge the windage correctly.

havent felt like going anywhere ,doing anything,,still numb from a GREAT friend passing away Monday. So no problem being snowed in for awhile!!

Dinner was at my brudder's. He fixed a Roast Beast, Smashed taters with cheese and garlic. Beans and rolls. I took over some bread pudding made with a Panetonne Loaf I made Wednesday. Plus we had a mess of Tims Sausage snacks and other apps.

Freexing rain at his house car and driveway coated with about a 1/4 inch. Had to scrape the ice of his down hill drive way to get out safely, barely made it to the top of the hill on his street. Main roads had been treated so no excitment.

Roast Turkey, mashed taters, stuffing(dressing), gravy, carrots, roast ham, sweet and sour meatballs, cranberry sauce, lemon slice, shortbread cookies for dessert. This is only about half of what my Mother used to put on her Christmas spreads.

My Wife made a very nice meal, I only peeled the potatoes, On KP duty..........LOL

Well you got out easy enough on that deal Fred. Your bride fixed you up nice on that one, for sure.

I am having a ham sandwich and a glass of milk for supper, which doesn't sound like much, but if you had been here around 1 this afternoon you would understand why it's plenty. Joel

We had our usual big breakfast with all the kids and grandkids. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon and fried potatoes. For supper my wife made her great lasagna. You wouldn't think a 100% Swede could make decent Italian but she got a recipe for sauce from her Uncle who was Italian. It's one of the few meals I eat until I hurt. But, it's a good hurt:rolleyes:

Traditional - turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, turnip, brussel sprouts, peas and carrots, buns, Christmas pudding with rum sauce, and cheese board to finish (Stilton my favourite). Choice of red or white wine of course.

Our power went off Christmas morning at eleven and stayed off for about twenty-six hours. Had a processed turkey & cheese sandwich for Christmas dinner. But when our neighbor came by and drove us into town, we had a very memorable breakfast!! Real Food!! Actually, a reminder now & again as to what we sometimes take for granted (like heat and lights) isn't a bad thing. Then our neighbor dug out our lane with a back hoe blade. We live in Iowa. Freedom again. We were in for about four days.
