Plymouthy Adams Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 I got about 4 laying about...anyone want to make a few ceiling fans.. Quote
TodFitch Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 I find it mild interesting that someone would clean up and paint a common mechanical part if they only plan to sell it. Seems like you're unlikely cover your time with the typical selling price. Quote
Captain Neon Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 I think that he is just trying to make his stand out from the crowd. Nothing wrong with giving an old part a new coat of paint. This is a hobby. Breaking even when selling parts is usu. a successful sale. However, that is just my opinion. Quote
boxer_inv Posted October 10, 2009 Author Report Posted October 10, 2009 it isn't the 'what' that is interesting.....it's the 'who'...and the fact that there's a small block transplant. Oh, well, too obscure I guess. Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Well, thanks to "iamikey" (the seller) I've gathered ,just today, that there are 17" and also 19" diameter fan blades......and to think this bit of trivia has been hanging on my wall ,unappreciated, for many years. So....you guys with just a slight overheating problem ( say 5 or 6 degrees too many) might solve the problem by installing a truck ( I'm guessing ) fan blade of the same vintage. Must be a car/truck difference. Thanks boxer_inv. Quote
58prostreet Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Boxer...I know what u are getting at....the car getting the small block was supposed to remain basically stock according the many post on this forum. Bob Quote
Captain Neon Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Boxer...I know what u are getting at....the car getting the small block was supposed to remain basically stock according the many post on this forum.Bob I finally figured it out when I typed "iamikey" into the search and found posts by an individual that was so concerned about having things "oem" that he wanted to know which shade of silver to paint the block, where to buy an "oem wiring harness," but was farming out all the work. Even claiming that a stock P15 coupe was worth $35K. I understand you now. Another nice car butchered by its ignorant owner. It won't be long as this "serious owner" will have his coupe for sale on eBay. Quote
Rollie Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 With a negative selling feedback in the past 3 months, I wouldn't trust this seller. Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 I guess true colors are starting to come out. Same phone number on the e-bay item as the number posted on the Hershey thread. I have traded 25 PM's with this guy trying to help him find parts for his stock car. On 10-3-09 he sent me the following PM in refrence to payment for a part. yes sent yesterday just got back from vacation,. Then on 10-5-09 I got this PM from him. for some reason i recieved my check in the mail i guess i didnt send it to the right place, or it bounced back at this point im not going to take the moldings. im going to use the money for more important things like getting my car running, when i am ready to purchase them, i will contact you, sorry about this. should be ready in a few weeks whe i paint the car. mike w Anyone doing business with this guy should beware. Other forum members have had bad experiances with him. This guy who claims to not have time to search even on ebay has more ebay sales than I do. Quote

RobertKB Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 (edited) Ralph, that level looks pretty old. I have one that is similar and is known to be of Victorian vintage. It has a very small hole at one end and a large one with crosshairs on the other. When you look throught the smaller hole you can see the crosshairs and whatever you are aiming it at. I assume it was used somehow to tell if things were lever. I think it may have been mountable to keep it steady. Not sure. It can and is used as a normal level at times. Plymouthy Adams Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 I would say in normal instances you are level...but if you really have to be sure.... Quote
T120 Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 ..Thanks guys:D.My eyesight isn't what it used to be.I guess maybe I'll have to get a level like yours Tim just to be sure Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 ..Thanks guys:D.My eyesight isn't what it used to be.I guess maybe I'll have to get a level like yours Tim just to be sure you don't want to ask how much trouble it was to get that picture of level with that sensitve SOBubble...each small division line is only 5 seconds of a degree.. would makes a great lie detector...no one on the hot seat would ever be able to steady that thing free handed..let alone a person who has had a few... T120 Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 ..Well Tim,on second thought, your level may be a little too exacting for me.I have been known to veer a little off center at times Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 i cant sell a fan blade, y hate on me? what did i do? I dont hate you. I just dont trust you. It just seems you dont tell the truth. You told everybody here you wanted to restore your car to stock. Then you told everybody on e-bay that you converted your car to a SBC. You are not telling someone the truth. At this point it does not matter what you say on this forum as you have said enough already. I will waste no more of my time with you. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 im keeping my car stock. was going to put a 350 in the begining but decided to keep stock heres the new blade i bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300336963467&viewitem= Quote
Rollie Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 I'm wrestling with rust-oleum and my fan now. So you didn't like how your's turned out? How much different is the paint on N.O.S. piece after you cleaned it up compared to the paint on your fan? Is all the paint intact? Is that rust on the rivets on the NOS fan? Were the blades painted then riveted perhaps? Quote
mackster Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 im keeping my car stock. was going to put a 350 in the begining but decided to keep stockheres the new blade i bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300336963467&viewitem= I had my doubts from the get-go. I notice how you only post a sentence to ask everyone else to do your research work. and now that I see you can write all that when you are trying to sell a lousy fan blade! well hope people didnt try to get you good deals so you can turn around and sell them for profit. boxer_inv Posted October 12, 2009 Author Report Posted October 12, 2009 i cant sell a fan blade, y hate on me? what did i do? Hate is a very strong word Michael, and I most certainly don't hate you or anyone on this fine forum, or elsewhere for that matter - just to clear that up at the get-go. I started this thread because I came across the eBay listing, saw the seller id and put 2 & 2 together. Then I saw the note in the listing about having a small block transplanted, and I thought....'well, thats interesting'. Hence the subject line of the thread. I had been under the impression that you were going to keep your car stock, so I was slightly taken by surprise at the eBay mention of a transplant. You've now cleared this up in your following reply... im keeping my car stock. was going to put a 350 in the begining but decided to keep stock For what its worth - I think that is GREAT! BUT, I'd also have no problem whatsoever if you were going to do an engine transplant. I'd simply find it 'interesting'. Michael, I can't control what other members write in response to threads, or how they come to their conclusions of anyone, least of all me or you. We all make up our own minds have control over our own actions and it is these that influence how others judge us. If I am hereby charged with "opening this can", then I plead guilty and throw myself at the mercy of the court... "but, 'dem worms already be inside, your Honor" If I held any opinion of you, or any other member of this forum, it is just that - opinion - and isn't for public airing. I'm totally sure that based on some of the dumb-*** questions I've asked since joining, there are some who will have me pegged as a 'bloody Aussie w##ker', but my attitude to that is what other people think of me is none of my business;) For the record, I wish you all the very best in getting your car done, and in your quest for parts. I'd genuinely be 'interested' to see some photos of how its coming along - and I'm quite certain others would be too. Quote
