Norm's Coupe Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Sorry guys. Don't usually post something like this here, but this guy has got to be smoking something. Check this car out on this link. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/1160069680.html if you want a good laugh. Quote
randroid Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Norm, I know what he was smoking. It was some of that stuff they use for, um, well it gets smoked by a lot of folks who watch TV late and it's called, er, damn! Wait, I got it now, it's that green stuff from Mexico that isn't a card. That's it, it's notacard. I knew I'd remember. No, notacard isn't right, but it's a type of notacard, but that's not the right name and it wouldn't be a notacard even if that was the right word, but it sounds like it. But if it wasn't a notacard and 'notacard' wasn't the right word then it must sound like something else. I never tried to smoke a Margarita but I dated one once and have been smoked by a few more so maybe he was smoking Margarita. If you personally got caught smoking a Margarita in Canada and got put inside the walls, would you be guarding yourself? He he, maybe it could work; at least you'd get employee meals. Don't quit your job until you get out of prison because then you keep your seniority and get more money and you could buy that 14-yr-old Chubby for the asking price. What was the name of that $#it? -Randy (OK, I'm completely straight but I've been doing some writing lately that deals with stoners, and I think it's funny. At least I stopped it here.) Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 He just needs to find the right buyer... Quote
Frank Elder Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Didn't you know that $10,000 is the new $1,000 ? Quote
Young Ed Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Hey guys those are popular cars. I agree the price is certainly top end for that car but not totally out of line. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 extremely low mileage SS would still carries a hefty tag.. Quote
rearview Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 For that car the price is right there, especially considering the low miles. He'll probably get $9500-10,000 for it in reality. People snap them things up, provided it's an original Impala SS and not just a converted Caprice. They're quite the wolf in sheep's clothing... a blast to drive. Grampa's grocery getter with a bad attitude problem. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Reminds me of that guy in Milwaukee who is asking twelve grand for his P-15 Coupe:rolleyes: Quote
greg g Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Darth Vader signature model???? OK so it black on black with dark tint. I don't get how an LS 1 engine makes a 2K car worth 11K. Couple on e pay for 8k buy it now. Maybe its a cult thing. You know like the Camry Collector edition with the gold colored rim and vinyl roof. Quote
hkestes41 Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 For what it is worth, Kelly Blue Book lists it at $9925 for Milwaukee zip codes. So, his asking price is on the top end just gives him some room to negotiate or get a bonus if he finds a rube willing to give him that. Our high school youth pastor has one black/black and he constantly has people asking him if it is for sale. Quote
rearview Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 The big body Impala SS's have a following due to being the jump back into a "new" muscle car era. You got this big brash car, LT1 motor, decent gearing, excellent comfort and road manners matched with fairly decent fuel economy. Plus, it was a step UP from the police package, which raised a lot of eyebrows at the time. The cars modify EXTREMELY easy, it is hard to find one stock. Quite simple to bump it from the stock 260 hp to over 400, and retain the mpg. Plus, they have a good, mean look to them. It's kind of a barbarian with a black tie. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Well.........I guess some may be willing to pay that much after all for a 95 Chevy. But..........as much as I like Chevy's, there's no way I'd pay anywhere near that price for a 95 Impala. Maybe a Corvette, but that would be it. Don C, I don't know anyone in Milwaukee selling a P15 coupe for only $12,000, but I do know someone that will sell one for $12,500, if you're interested. Quote
Young Ed Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Norm if you wanted one of those Chevy's you'd pay it. Its just not something you like. Somehow I doubt a corvette would be that cheap. Unless you want a crappy late 70s early 80s one. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Ed, You'd be surprised what used Corvette's are going for. I know I was when I started nosing around at them the past few months. They don't go for all that much used, except for some of the real old ones from the 50's and early 60's. Even the 90's Corvette's and around early 2000 are fairly reasonable, and in real nice shape. My barber has a 2001 Corvette, and believe me when I say he doesn't like to spend money. Don't know what he paid for it, but probably wasn't all that much. He even complained about the price of a set of new tires for it about a year or so ago. He doesn't drive it on a regular basis. Primarily for pleasure after work and weekends, then for the Corvette club activities he belongs to. Quote
knuckleharley Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 It's no trouble at all to only slightly modify these cars, and have a 4dr sedan that will run 180+ MPH with the AC going while you sit in comfort in leather and listen to your CD. There weren't very many of these cars made, and if you can find one with low mileage that has never been hit or rusted out 11 grand ain't too high a price to pay. Especially for a black one. Pretty hard to hide body repairs on a black car. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Corvette..something a call girl down on her luck would drive...(while the Benz is getting an oil change) prices for the older 50-60 still going for these cars though I have sen more and more of them offered for sale of late when normally these never change hands..the 70-80 barbie doll cars are still cheap..the newer ones..well..they newer 'bout all I can say... The reason for this is the geezers who have been hiding them in their garages for years are either going into "the home" or are dying off. I know of one instance in Harrisonburg,Virginia where a girl college student there was given the very same 60 Corvette her father was driving when he met and started dating her mother when they were both students there. A dual quad 283,4 speed car with both tops. Looked like a 2 or 3 year old used car from the condition. She traded it in on a Honda Accord. Most younger people don't have the same attraction to the older cars that we do. All they see is money and "old fogey styling". Everybody under 50 that sees my 32 Ford coupe 50's style hot rod tells me "You should sell that thing! It will bring a lot of money.". They don't understand it when I tell them if I had all that money I would spend to to buy a 32 Ford coupe,so why bother?" I see money as a way to provide the things you want or need, and of no real value other than that. They see money as the ultimate goal. Yeah, they would like to have "stuff",but only if they can sell it and get money. Quote

If that young lady traded her 60 Corvette for a Honda Accord, she really got ripped off unless she got a few G's to go with it. Didn't look up the price, but.......a 58 Vette will go for about $60,000 or more. A 60 is just about as desirable. Quote

I saw the car at a Midas Muffler place and heard the story there from the guy that had bought the car from the dealer. It was a pretty car, white with orange "cove" and interior. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Even if it was 10 years ago, she still got ripped. Prices may have been a little different then, but with the same spread. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 the dying of the eldest in herd could well explain the influx of availibiltiy...or the acceptance of ultimate demise and lack of gen-x appreciate could spur sell and enjoy the money in the twilight...(maybe invest in a pervertible) Quote

Yeh but have you ever seen the look on their face when they get their doors blown off by an 8000# diesel truck! they tuck tail and run real fast the other way!! Quote
