back in January I posted asking for suggestions for rebuilding my 265. So I thought I would post some pics and what was done. I have not installed it yet, should have it running in the next few weeks, I work away from home so time it limited.

1. Bored .040 over

2. cranked ground .010 under

3. crank journals line bored

4. rods resized and new bushings installed

5. balanced complete rotating assembly

6. port matched intake and exhaust

7. edgy cam .410 lift and 260 duration

8. edmunds intake, cater weber carbs

9. edgy head

10. headers

Is the #1 header tube as close to the fuel pump in real life as it looks in the picture?

Sure looks that way. Some of it is hopefully just the angle of the pic. Looks great otherwise.

yes the fuel pump is to close to the headers, I have already purchased an electric pump, I will be installing a fuel pump block off plate

Looks great. Does your engine have full flow oil filtering capabilities? What filter are you using? Did or do you know if the internal pipe plug has been installed in the oil passage way to make the full flow filter work?

Don, yes it is a full flow engine, it came out of my 54 Desoto, I have the originol canister and a spin on style that I got from another 265 I have

Plug must be installed here to work full flow.

Looks good and I am sure it will really haul. Wish more guys would do this rather than drop a V8 in. It would be interesting to see how a motor like yours compares in acceleration to a regular 350 SBC which is the motor of choice for the majority of hot-rodders.

I'll second that Robert. And if more guys did it it could get cheaper as more suppliers repro the goodies

no, but I sure would have been interesting to see what it would make for hp and torque
