Fireball Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 I've built and owned a few, but it seems I'm always daydreaming for some other model. So without thinking this a full day, what are your top 5 alltime favourite MoPar models you either have, had or wish for Here we go with my letter to Santa 1. '98 Dodge Viper GTS 2. '59 Dodge Custom Royal HT or STW 3. '60 Plymouth Fury 2 d HT 4. any 60's A-body (They just grow on me) 5. '68 Dodge Charger This is limited to five, I obviously like to have a dozen more than that:cool: I know that my current car would be on second place, if I didn't have it already. I know, it doesn't make any sence... Quote
RobertKB Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Excluding what I have this is the list of what I would like: 1. 1941 Chrylser business coupe 2. Early 40's Desoto any model 3. 1940 Plymouth business coupe 4. 1950 Plymouth business coupe 5. 1932 Plymouth any model Not hard to tell I like the oldies, flatties, and coupes Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 1. I've had a thing for '71 Plymouth Satellites for quite some time now 2. And if I ever find a '66 Chrysler Newport 4 Door Sedan, like my Grandparents had, I'd have a hard time passing it up. 3. Also a '70 Dodge Polara Custom 2 door hard top, like we had while I was growing up, would be fun. 4. Of course I'd have to keep my '50 Dodge truck. 5. But I also like the late '40s to early 50's Power Wagons too. Merle Quote
Fireball Posted January 10, 2009 Author Report Posted January 10, 2009 Merle, do you happen to like the movie Free Willy? (those cars you listed are pretty much whales:D ) Keep 'em coming gents, it's cool to see when someone lays down a model you didn't thought about, and suddenly start feeling the urge... to start browsing the craigslist. Does the "fever" ever get kinda overwhelming with you guys? Like when I saw my current ride in the net, there was nothing on the face of the earth stopping me to acquiring it. The whole scenario had all the classic warning lights lid on, and still I just got to buy it without seeing from the other side of the pond, and the rest is history (again said wifey) Quote
RobertKB Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 My list above is based on the facts that I win the lottery, probably triple the garage space I have now, part with two Fords:eek: I have and like, and my wife suddenly getting alzheimers and forgetting she said "no more cars". She loves the old cars but I have reached her tolerance point. Quote
Allan Faust Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Well, Let's see..... 1. My 50 four door.... cause its my first rebuild.... kinda special. 2. I want a Power Wagon.... there is one member here that has one that I find just sweet.... 3. a good old 70 hemi cuda convertible (so I can sell it and get all the other cars I want) but I'd still love to drive it, but at $1 000 000 well, dunno if I would... 4. A new challenger with the hemi in it.... 5. Christine..... nuff said.... Quote

Niel Hoback Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 I know a Deusenburg is not a mopar, but at sometime Fred or Auggie must have at least said the name "Chrysler", and thats enough connection for me. Quote

Aussie D25 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 My all time favorite mopar is the Australian Chrysler Valiant VH E38 R/T Charger in Hot Mustard or Vitamin C... it may not be as great as the track version E49 yet my pop had one of these before he died, so it holds a little sentimental value as well as being a great looking car. http://images.moparmusclemagazine.com/featuredvehicles/p109230_large+1972_Australian_Chrysler_Charger_RT+Front_Passengers_Side_View.jpg http://www.shannons.com.au/library/images/auctions/RT85Q665E6EPB3R8_medium.jpg http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1025/1016064780_daf87379f8_o.jpg Oh yeah long time no type ... still no progress on the Dodge yet I have just bought my first house and in the back yard is a 23' x 18' garage/workshop. Hello second home ... or dog house, depends on what level of trouble I am in with the financial controller. Quote
Fluid drive Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 I just have to jump in on this thread! My favorite is my first car 1936 Plymouth P-1 business coupe. Fully restored back a few years it still looks great. Second would have to be the 1947 Chrysler Windsor Highlander Club coupe I used to drive. Still like to drive my 1935 early series 1 1/2 ton dodge truck too. Have had dozens of oldies and I have always preferred the Mopars. Try stopping a ford or chevy with mecahnical brakes that are out of balance. Or grinding the valves on one of Henry's V-8s that didn't have adjustable lifters-although you can install ferguson tractor lifters in them. Then there are those torque tubes. If you want to work on the transmission in your ford or chevy you'll have to pull the rear end first. I think I'll stick with chrysler engineered vehicles! Quote
PatS.... Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 1949 Chrysler Windsor Club Coupe 1955 Chrysler 300 1966 Chrysler 300 Convertible 1968 Plymouth GTX 1969 Plymouth Sport Fury and one non Mopar...1964 Pontiac Grand Prix (yes, I love the boats...) Quote
old woolie Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Hard to pick a favorite. My first car was a 62 Dart 2dr post. If I had to pick I guess it would be that one, my 71 Duster would be a close 2nd. I'd like to find another 62 Dart someday. Quote

Merle Coggins Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Merle, do you happen to like the movie Free Willy?(those cars you listed are pretty much whales:D ) Actually I did kind of like that movie... Call me sentimental, but 2 of the first 3 listed are cars from my youth. And you limited the list to 5 vehicles, otherwise I'd have probably also added a '70 or '71 Hemi Cuda and a '78 or '79 Little Red Express truck. I also drool over the new Challengers too. I even have a picture of an orange one as my computer destop. Merle Quote
