  1. Tearing down a nice flathead must be exciting. Too bad those valves are stuck... Even worse, the water distribution tube. I hope that you can get it out.
  2. Sounds awesome!
  3. Believe me, I dream about it! I want a car guy living there. Someone who will hang out and do Junkyard runs together. Come to car shows with me... Even if the guy builds Euro stuff. I don't care, I just want to have a fun cool neighbor.
  4. He is a sociopath, and a narcissist. He actually believes that my property somehow affects his peace and tranquility. He can't even see my car's and sea containers from his house! What a prick! He trespasses on the property next door and spies on us. Gives us the Willie's! Once I am 100% code compliant, I think that I should return the favor. I think that he needs some things to keep him busy in order to stop worrying about us. Maybe just maybe, if it breaks his bank, he will learn to leave kind helpful people alone. I am the type that helps people, and I don't care what my neighbors do, and keep to myself. But if you hurt me, or my family, I will be sure to return the favor. We didn't deserve this....
  5. The problem with that is, even if I could afford it, is that he is to stupid to "get it"... He lives in his own special world.
  6. I grew up with horses, road apples are not a big deal. Dogs love 'em! LOL I hope that you are right, at some point people will realise how aweful this guy is.
  7. I got some options today. I can permit a very tall fence around my sea containers. Cost will be approximately $2000 for permit, plus cost of plans, and the fence itself. Once permitted and approved, I can spend about $1000 per container to obtain permits. The beauty of this plan is that my stuff stays where it is. And he can gripe all he wants, I will be in compliance. Another option is to build a 2000 to 4000 square foot building for storage. Tomorrow I will visit the county assessor to see if plan A or plan B will affect my property value. One problem in California is, if you get re-assessed, your taxes will skyrocket! I may not get to build my dream workshop if that is the case.... Or keep my sea containers.... I don't want to lose Prop 13. The part that really ticks me off, is that this will set me back, once again, and my dream of getting the 1937 on the road this year won't happen. Sigh I hope to keep my collection and get to truly enjoy my hobby before I get... OLD... And TIRED... Stay tuned!
  8. Drag racing slant 6 vs slant six is fun!!! Love it!
  9. Please post pictures when you get the turbo installed. Sounds like a great way to get more out of a flathead. How many PSI are you looking to force in?
  10. The coolant tubes can be surprisingly easy, or be your worst nightmare. I try to collapse it down on the outside, then try to fish it out. Sometimes a welder will be needed to get something tacked to the tube in order to pull on it. Best of luck to you, the last two I pulled were sweethearts to me, and came out without a fuss. The first one I did, about 8-10 years ago, took 2 days and a ARC welder rod.... Sigh
  11. Robert, Your car is a beauty!
  12. You can come buy and practice any time! I will even buy you some beer... LOL
  13. Resolving the issue amoungst one another is the way to go. This guy is mentally ill.... Nothing can be resolved.
  14. You guys are great! LOL I wish that I could settle things man to man, but this is California. If someone is a antagonist, and harasses you, and then you fight back, you "the victim" becomes the bad guy. I called one of his kids today, and we talked about it. My neighbor hides his wierdness from his family. His son was surprised to hear about this, and confessed that his dad is stubborn, he knows that there is not much we can do. He is very apologetic about the whole situation. I don't want to spoil my friendship with the son by combatting his nutty father.... SIGH I will have to visit code enforcement and see what I can sort out. This is going to cost me big! Bummer...
  15. Hmmm. Elon Musk should embrace this! LOL
  16. The sheriff is offering to help me get a restraining order against him. This guy is something else. Code enforcement wants money, once this sort of thing begins, I will have a long hard uphill battle to fight. I asked them to come out, do an inspection, and tell me if I am not compliant or if I am in compliance. They told me that they can't come out for that. Sigh.
  17. I tried, he scoffed at the idea. He seems to think that using hammers and chisels to destroy fasteners in order to remove them is superior than using a proper tool. The last time I witnessed this, I brought the correct sized socket to help. He basically called me an idiot, and handed the socket back. I can't reason with this guy. Every attempt to help him is declined. My other neighbors are happy that I help them out, none of them like the guy either.... Sigh...
  18. Wow! I love the Plymouth's in this video. What a great film!
  19. Hello all, Despite my efforts to be kind and not trouble my nosey neighbor, he constantly calls the sheriff on us regarding our vehicles. He just stepped it up and has gotten code enforcement involved. He has driven out two home owners below us. And he has trespassed the neighbors property and dug roads into it with his tractor. Amoungst other things. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to protect my family and hobby from this predator?
  20. I have been through this myself. I am sorry to hear about this, it sours our hobby.
  21. I don't care for flakey people myself, sorry to hear that you lost approximately 5-6 hours of your time for nothing. That sucks! Happens alot here in SoCal, I tend to do my business elsewhere because of it.
  22. I have installed mustang II Kit's... My opinion, rebuild what you have. You are going to spend money on something that you will notice no difference by the seat of your pants. Use the money elsewhere in the car. Not trying to stir the pot here, just my 2¢... I personally like Volare front clips if a custom job just has to happen. There are suspension parts from police cars that can be used with 11" disc brakes... The 11" disc brakes are OEM, and you can get parts(rotors, seals, bearings, bushings, ball joints, and pads) from your local parts place if needed.
  23. I have a customer of mine that has a 1949 Coronet. I got this car cleaned up and running well. The paint is almost perfect, as well as the interior. He keeps hinting that he may sell it. If I only had garage space! I totally understand where you're coming from here. Good luck....
  24. Well.... I have 2 Spitfire V-8's... Does that count? Muhahaha Just kidding... Couldn't resist...
