  1. Steele Rubber Products is definitely one of the best that I have used. Everyone else doesn't have the same quality, or is too soft and bunches up on the glass, or is too hard and defective, just doesn't fit right.... Some guys make their own molds, and do a great job too. One example is Steve from DCM, but he specializes in trucks. @Stans52 Please let us know which products worked out well for you. So it helps a lot of guys like you that are in the same boat.
  2. I bought ethanol resistant fuel line from Amazon. It's tough to slip over the nipples to the fuel line and the pump, but I would love to quit seeing my fuel lines looking like Jaws attacked them! The modern fuel is BRUTAL to the fuel hose. They just dry rot inside out... May be worth looking into. I hope this helps.
  3. I really admire your 1953, I have a 1954 Chrysler Windsor. Unfortunately, I will never have the opportunity to finish my 1954. I hope that someday I can find a loving home for it... My neighbor has created "code" issues for me. I hope that I don't have to send it to the crusher. Sigh... I hope that it will be OK to ask you a question about your lovely car. What kind of MPG are you getting out of the 265? I have considered putting one of those engines in my 1937 Dodge for a couple of years now. I am so amazed how awesome looking these cars are when painted up nicely. Really beautiful! I wish that I could restore mine... I can't wait to see where you travel to next. ?
  4. I never had the pleasure of owning a car with a record player. But my 1956 DeSoto had cool find and lots of power from the Hemi. I should have NEVER sold that car... Bummer... It was a great car.
  5. They sure did, I saw one in a 1958 Chevrolet. Not a accessory that is seen often.
  6. I hope someday the bickering stops amoungst one another... Sigh One other solution is to buy welding cable, it's fine strand design works excellent for replacement battery cables. Make sure you get a good crush on the terminal then solder it. If you heat shrink over the ends, it will help prevent corrosion. I own several Diesel trucks, and noticed a improvement on starting them on really cold days in Kansas, after I made my own cables out of welding cable.... Please let us know how the cables you ordered turned out.
  7. I like the wiper interchange! Very crafty indeed. I am bummed about your trim... I hope that you find it by some strange act of luck.
  8. The Dr is right... I also noticed a new assortment in the Help section. I am thinking of taking a closer look to see if the springs are made in the correct gage... They may have been carburetor springs also. If it's fruitful, I will let you know with a part #... .
  9. Welcome to the Forum! I would like to see pics of your car when you are able to post them. I reside in Kansas at times, and in California at times... But I travel a lot. Maybe someday we will bump into one another. ?
  10. How are things moving along? If only our bell housing's had more meat up above where the transmission mounts. It would help tremendously. It also would not be a big issue in a truck chassis.... More room to work.
  11. Very true, I am trying to get everything dialed in in under concealment. If I fight this guy, it will never end and cost me more $$$... Sigh I am going to get my act together, then offer a truce... If he persists, then I have no other choice but to turn his Hippocrate butt in...
  12. Imagine a pond, with a garage in the middle. To be 100% fireproof would be dreamy!
  13. After I get this thing up, I will attempt to finance a steel building as a work shop. Then all of my stuff will be concealed. Then the neighbor can't see any antique cars/trucks to complain about....
  14. Great news!!!! I got my permit!!! Yay! Quonset Hut will be in the works.
  15. I need to find one of these with the removable sides included(stake sides). I would gladly offer the man's ransom if it was complete.
  16. I can't get over the automatic transmission picture! Priceless.....
  17. After I restore my 1936 and 1937 Dodge trucks, I need to find one these....
  18. I have a 1938 Plymouth Truck, and pieces to a 1939. The Plymouth trucks are hard to find. The Dodges are easier... I hope that you and your wife find what you are looking for. And I hope to find a 1937(PT50) or a 1938(PT57) hood someday... Good luck, and please post what you buy.
  19. Regardless of having suicide doors or not... Your truck looks FANTASTIC!
  20. I really like the Dakota Chassis also. My 1995 Dakota, 5.2L, handled like a car, and hauled well too. Way better than a crappy S10 or utilizing a mustang 2 kit. There are many reasons why the Dakota is better than the "popular" choices... But you obviously know this. I can't wait to see the finished product.
  21. I would love to visit this guy.
  22. You know what they say, practice makes perfect! LOL
