  1. A photo upload observation. With the change over to this new set up I found that when I post even a small pic, actually under 50kb, it is easy to see. They are the ones of the hand brake that I posted for Casper. Drag and drop is a nice added feature. Since I installed windows 10 I sometimes have a problem locating my pics, so it's nice that I don't have to try to find them twice to add them.
  2. 48 D24
  3. For those that may not have seen this Google Adsense banner here is one that I occasionally see. Not sure if it is the same one. I did not see it here. Popped up on my ebay today. Not the 1st time. Caught it in the act, and snapped a pic today.
  4. tape measure will probably answer your question. My book shows 49-52 same #
  5. Clean, and tighten connections. Do not over tighten.
  6. and as Plymouthy said, it is not recommended to strike the axle end, as it is suggested that the bearings may be damaged doing this.
  7. http://p15-d24.com/page/p15d24/tech/brakes.html/ Scroll down to see the drum removal tool. Also put the axle nut back on loosely to keep the drum, and puller from possibly hitting the floor when it finally breaks loose. Also try a search for "drum removal" on this site. May find some good reading/tips/solutions/similar problems
  8. I read from top to bottom. Works well for me. When I open a thread to read new posts it opens below the previous posts. When I get to the bottom of the page I am reading the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 ....... are there for me to click on.
  9. My guess would also be something external unless you have dumped lots and lots of stuff into the cylinders to loosen things up. easy path for things added is out an open exhaust valve. The flange gasket from the manifold to the exhaust pipe should keep it sealed to prevent anything from coming out, but you never know.
  10. As an aside to your picture size question, along with the individual picture size limit, you also have an overall content limit associated to pictures. When you reach that limit you will need to go into "manage attachments" to make some room by deleting some. When I do pics I generally try to size/crop them down as small as I can while still displaying what I want to be seen. One currently inactive (not on since 6/2014) forum member displayed pics so large you could only see 1/2 to 2/3 of it on a 21" monitor. Sort of pointless to do.
  11. I think that only happens if admin disables the vote function.
  12. The thing that I find annoying is, as was pointed out in another thread, that the vote takes the post out of the normal sequence that it was posted in. That can be a bit confusing when you are trying to read/follow a thread. Some sites have a little thumbs up/thumbs down counter that indicates agreement/disagreement that can show what viewers think. The vote up/down, to me, does not seem to serve any useful purpose. If you like what someone posts, hit the like. My paycheck stays the same either way. I don't post for approval. I post in an attempt to be of some help.
  13. I'd like to vote on that comment, but see no arrows
  14. If the oil pump has not been removed it should be full of oil. The oil does not run out of the pump when it is it its normal operating position. If the engine has been out of the vehicle, and positioned other than normal, the oil could be out of the pump. One simple thing to do is to remove the pump, fill it with fresh oil, and reinstall. Follow shop manual instructions for proper indexing of the oil pump/distributor if doing this.
  15. Not saying that isn't the problem for HotRodHerman, but by 1950 the wire going down through the column was, at least in my findings,(at least a dozen) is a fairly flexible, rather durable, thicker rubber (about 1/8") insulated wire. Possibly if the wiring in the area where it exits into the engine bay had been altered it could cause unexpected wear there. Just wiggling the wire in the area, or some push pull up into the hole could reveal if the problem is in that area.
  16. bump. someone should have been to an auto parts store (re: next pic needed as Tod's choice) by now, even if only for oil, or an air freshener.
  17. If you put a new spring on, it may have been one of the defect springs that was wound/manufactured backwards
  18. Don. How did you take that photo while doing 25mph With little to no oil pressure.
  19. Thanks for the guidance on that. I believe I will miss the alphabetical setup where I could skip to a section looking for a member when I could not remember the complete/exact ID. An interesting thing. Well at least to me. My post count jumped dramatically as the transition to this new set up was somehow still aware of all the posts which I had deleted (pre-bulletin board when you could still delete) as a clean up as they were no longer relevant, or served no purpose.
  20. I know, but the post would often be cut short when it was too wordy. This now allows the entire post to be read, and you can also see pics, which you could not do before.
  21. I like how you can now hover on a new thread title, and then read the entire first post to see if it is of interest.
  22. As it is missing the running boards, and the cowl trim I think you should just ship it to me Nice find
  23. I like body color matching wheels
