  1. Be VERY careful removing the seal, you do not want to bend the cover if you do the slinger ring will hit the crank gear. As you can see in my last pic it is a VERY close fit.
  2. I just saw Dodgebe4ya's post and he is right. Old and New Correct installation
  3. Not all engines get the felt washer, if your damper looks like Don's then yes. I had the same question during my rebuild and my damper didn't require it.
  4. I use RockAuto whenever I need parts. I must have used them over 15 different times and only had one issue. I ordered a bunch of parts in one order and one was a carb gasket, the package for the gasket was with the order but the gasket was not in the package. I called RockAuto and they apologized for the issue and sent me a new gasket without any issues. They also asked me if there was a quality control stamp on the packing slip because they have a zero tolerance for shipping mistakes and they wanted to talk to the person who packed my shipment. All and all I would say that RockAuto is a great supplier for our parts.
  5. I built mine up on the floor of my garage on a shipping blanket.
  6. Looking good
  7. Fred, are you talking about the stud? If so does it just need to be cleaned up with a die? Or is it a hole that can be cleaned up with a tap or last resort drill out and install a heli coil?

  9. I like it, with a nice paint job it would look even better.
  10. Everything looks great! I will point out one thing you might want to fix. I see that the block just above and between the manifolds isn't painted, when you have the manifolds installed this will be visible. I used a set of gaskets to mask the area, tape cut to fit will work also.

There was a post about a year ago about a stolen panel truck. They were able to get the truck just before it went across the boarder to Mexico. If anyone has the link please post it, its a great story to read.
  13. I just finished this model of the SNJ, its a kit of the planes I take care of from when they were the Miller Squadron. We are now the Geico Skytypers so I left the Miller decals off. Now I have to get a kit of my Plymouth .

  16. Like stated, be sure you replace the cover seal also.
